NOBODY REALLY PAYS THAT MUCH ATTENTION TO YOU
We are the main characters of our lives but we are only the supporting ones in other people’s lives. Other people don’t really pay that much attention or put too much focus or emphasis on every single one of your actions unless you are a child or need to be looked after for a specific reason. I would say even in that case, intentions make a big difference.
If you feel discomfort, self-conscious or have to restrict yourself amongst certain people then it has more to do with them than with your own-self. If people scrutinise, comment or judge every single action you do then it’s completely normal to feel self-conscious but the majority of people including strangers rarely think about what others do. As harsh as it may sound, they have their own life to think about and even if you are a loved one, they have their own set of things to prioritise & focus on.

VIEW YOURSELF FROM A THIRD PERSON PERSPECTIVE
Another way to break free from your own inhibitions is to look at yourself from a stranger’s point of view. If you could see someone being shy and self-conscious, how would you perceive that? The goal is not to make you feel even more self-conscious but to allow yourself to feel freer. You wouldn’t want someone to restrict themselves and be on edge so you should give that same grace to yourself as well.

REMEMBER THAT LIFE IS TOO SHORT
This is something you might have already guessed but once you realise that life is way too short to do everything you ever wanted – that’s when you realise how unfair it is to be hard on yourself. Everyone knows there is only one shot at this life but nobody truly understands how short it can be.
Time passes so quickly and before you know it, a decade would have easily slipped. Not only having inhibitions will restrict yourself from fully expressing yourself & unlocking your full potential but it will also stop you from living your life to the fullest.

I don’t have main character energy, but I am good for plucky comic relief.
I used to feel the same way haha, but everyone has main character energy. If we don’t feel that way then who will?
Interesting perspective. Thanks for the thought provoking read.
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊
