This is a topic I’ve talked a few times on my blog already but there is a fear of getting older for many people regardless of how old they are. That fear isn’t superficial and it could be something much more complex depending on their circumstances.
In today’s post, I wanted to share with you a few ways to embrace getting older. I do wish people viewed it as something organic rather than daunting but I do empathise with people’s worries as getting older usually equates to having more responsibilities, less lenience when it comes to making mistakes and more worries when thinking about your loved ones’ health and situations.
I do wish this wasn’t the case and people could live which ever way they want no matter how old they were but as you get older, a part of you does get defined by your age. The only way to make this change less daunting & stressful is to try to see the pros. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

FOCUSING ON HEALTH & EXERCISE
It’s something I’ve already mentioned on my blog but you have to focus on your health as it’s your vessel to life. It’s so easy to take it for granted when you are able to do everything you want even when you neglect it but those actions do have consequences on your body.
Prioritising your physical health will help you in so many different ways than you could ever imagine, it will not only prevent many health issues but it will also help clear your mind and make you feel good in your own body—both literally and figuratively.

ACKNOWLEDGING AND APPLYING YOUR LIFE LESSONS & THE STANDARDS YOU SET IN LIFE
There is literally no point of going through a bad experience if you aren’t going to apply the life lessons you learned through that situation/sequence of events in your life. As you get older, your life lessons become your principles and indicators of what you want your life to be or not, and what you want or don’t want to include in it.
It’s so easy to view something as shallow or conceited when you are on the other side of things. In this case, if someone were to refer the standards they expect or set with people in their life, you could say that they might have big unrealistic expectations but it could be the polar opposite.
The standards you set in life can be only wanting people who are genuinely empathetic and respect you for who you are as part of your life which is the bare minimum for many people. Some words might seem grandiose when in actual reality, they encompass the simplest and most profound values. Don’t be afraid to set standards and do not think twice about applying them either.

CONSUMING ART IN AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM
This is another thing I’ve mentioned quite a few times on my blog but consume art in at least one medium. Art is very much subjective and you don’t have to like or dislike something because of another person. Consume art in a medium that you personally like and enjoy immersing yourself into.
The truth is there are endless mediums and it’s totally up to your preference to choose the one you like. Art doesn’t necessarily have to be something related to music, books, drawing, wood craving or something stereotypically associated to arts. It could be cooking, baking, playing video games, sightseeing, collecting a specific item, etc.
