Double Cleanse | Unefillemorderne

I am sure by now you have heard of the phenomenon that every beauty lover swears by: the double cleanse. If not I will gladly enlighten you.

Double cleansing works in a two step process, hence the name. The first stage involves using an oil based cleanser to remove makeup or any impurities from your face. The reasoning behind this is that the process follows the dirt attracts dirt principle. So, the oil removes all the nastiness and then you simply use a second cleanser as normal to remove the oil from your face.

See, not so hard.

I however double cleanse a little differently. I don’t use an oil cleanser I just use an oil for the first stage and it works just as well, only it is more natural. The reason behind this is I like to keep anything that goes on my skin natural because I don’t just want another bottle that the ingredient list reads :chemical, chemical and even more chemicals. I know I can’t do this with my regular cleanser because of my acne prone skin so I am glad I can do it in the first stage of my double cleanse.

My oil of choice is coconut oil because I find it really easy to use as it literally melts all the makeup from face even the most difficult to remove mascara (I know!) but you can use any oil you desire. Then I used my dermalogica cleanser ( you can obviously use your normal cleanser) and voilà beautifully semi naturally cleansed skin.
