3 Signs Of Growth As A Blogger.

I think a lot of times we are too hard on ourselves as a blogger. It’s so easy to get caught up with numbers and compare ourselves with other bloggers but you have to remember that by doing that, you are not doing any favour for yourself nor your blog. The truth is some blogs take time to grow, no matter how hard you work or how dedicated you are to your blog.

Sometimes, it takes time to find the right blogging strategy because not every blog is the same. With that said, instead of looking at the negatives – I want you to focus on the positives! That’s the reason why in today’s post, I wanted to share with you some signs of growth to look at as a blogger. I’m pretty sure these are things that you already know but as a reminder, here they are! Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

GAINING FOLLOWERS

Even if you gain one follower, that’s a sign of growth! It doesn’t matter if you gain one follower per week or per month, at the end of the day a person is choosing to follow your blog to read your content because they find it helpful and interesting. It’s so easy to compare yourself with a blogger who gains hundreds, if not thousands of followers every month but that doesn’t discredit the fact that your blog is gaining followers whether it be one, ten or twenty. One follower is still a follower!

SEEING AN INCREASE OF UNIQUE VISITORS

A lot of times, people focus on the number of monthly views or even daily/weekly views but something that you should focus more on is the number of unique visitors you receive. The reason why it’s important is because as its name states, it’s the number of unique individuals who visits your blog.

One person can check your blog multiple times per day which will contribute to an extra view every time they browse through your blog posts/website but the number of unique visitors is completely different, it shows the number of people who check and browse through your website.

Even if one digit in that metric increases compared to the previous month or week, you know that a new person has found your blog which is something to celebrate and be proud of. As for any other metrics, please don’t only focus on this number and check your other stats as well if you want to analyse your growth in a more detailed manner.

RECEIVING LIKES

This is something pretty obvious but if you notice a sudden surge of the number of likes you receive on your blog posts then that’s a sign of growth as well. Even if you gain one extra like, it’s a sign that your blog is growing. You have to remember that the number of likes you receive will vary depending on the time of the year, topic and content in question.

There are so many factors that you need to take into consideration when looking at your likes. It’s so easy to get discouraged and think that you aren’t seeing any difference or improvement but everything takes time. As long as you can notice a difference, whether it’s small or big – you have to remember that it’s a sign that your blog is growing.

  1. It’s so easy to spend more time on getting likes than getting creative and creating content. Creating is what really results in fulfillment and success.

    1. So true, I think when our focus is numbers we lose the ‘Why’ behind the blog.

    2. I absolutely agree with you! If you are not passionate about your blog, you will never be happy nor feel fulfilled with your blog. Thank you so much for reading 😊

  2. These are great tips! It’s so easy to get caught up in the numbers. I’ve seen some blogs that are popular but lack high quality content. I’ve also seen some amazing blogs that deserve more followers. I learned something from these observations though – it’s all about the blogger’s input. Our input (effort) eventually speaks for itself.

Personally, I hardly post… I write maybe 1-2 times a month but I engage a lot with bloggers. That’s the only reason why I’ve managed to stay afloat. I realize that I have much more potential if I wasn’t so unmotivated and lazy when it comes to creating content. Most of my ideas stay in my head and never actually make it to the rough draft. Despite all of this, there is a reason why I refuse to give up blogging – because I’m not done writing. I’m not done sharing an opinion. I’m not done having an influence, no matter how small that influence is (sans social media).

    1. Thank you so much love! ❤️ I completely agree with you, there are so many blogs who deserve way more followers especially considering the fact that there are people who steal other bloggers’ content and manage to gain followers which is completely unfair to those who have been working and still work extremely hard & create great quality content.

    2. Lately I’ve noticed similar blog posts popping up in the WP reader. Same topic, same theme, similar advice. I often wonder if these are collabs or if bloggers just copy one another…..

I agree that it’s unfair that bloggers copy one another and claim the ideas as their own. If I use an idea from elsewhere, I make sure it’s reworded and I give the blogger credit. It’s the right thing to do.

    3. If it was a collab, it would definitely be very obvious and they would mention it in the blog post. I do believe that bloggers can post similar blog posts coincidentally but the truth is, sadly some people do copy other bloggers. It’s literally not even hard to credit a blogger and it’s the least you could do but 🤷🏻‍♀️

    4. Most of the blog ideas that are stolen aren’t from collabs. Collabs usually get some kind of mention, but stolen blog ideas/stolen content typically don’t. And because they are ideas, bloggers often think that they don’t need to give credit to the person who inspired them. I feel like it is only right to link the person who inspired you and I wish more bloggers would give credit. It costs nothing to give a shout-out as a way to say “thank you.”

    5. That’s actually very true and I completely agree with you. It’s the least they could do and some people still choose not to do it. To be honest, it just shows their integrity as a blogger.

  3. Great tip. It’s easy to forget the simple things when it’s the simple things that matter the most. We should notice how far we have come instead of just focusing on how far we still need to go

  4. Thanks for sharing these truths that often times we don’t pay attention to. We easily get caught up by stats that we forget the most important
