THE NICHE

This is probably the most obvious and practical option if you want to start over your blog and that is to change your niche. You can of course incorporate new niches into your website but if you are thinking about switching everything up then changing the niche would make much more sense as opposed to implementing new ones. It will give you the chance to write something that you are passionate about on a fresh new slate.

THE BRANDING

Changing your branding is another step to starting over your blog and I’m not only talking about changing your branding elements such as the theme of your website, colour palette and/or fonts, etc. but the name of your blog. If your blog’s name was specifically linked to your previous niche then changing the name will not only give you the opportunity to branch out but it will also look cohesive as well as professional and not be confusing to your audience.

THE PLATFORM

Last but not least, you can switch your blogging platform to finish the process. You don’t technically have to transfer to a new hosting service nor platform but for instance if your previous blog was on a hosting service platform then going self-hosted will give you an entire new feeling. You can play around with the new (or extra) features in terms of customisation and it will feel like you are creating a brand new website.

  1. (Just like) Starting Over is IMHO one of John Lennon’s BEST songs! 😀 (and I ❤ a LOT of his music).

Maybe you and I should START a start-over org … or maybe a start-over info website … or maybe a dozen other similar websites ,,, — oh, wait a second, would that be *work*? 😯
