TAKE A BREAK

Sometimes, all you need is a break! Especially if you’ve been blogging continuously for a long period of time. This break will give you the clarity and relaxation you need. Blogging on a regular basis can have a huge toll on your body and mind. We all have many responsibilities alongside our blog and it’s definitely not easy to manage and balance everything. You might get the inspiration, love and passion for your blog after the break!

ASK YOURSELF IF YOU STLL LOVE YOUR BLOG

What happens if you still feel the same way after you have taken that break? Ask yourself if you still love your blog. Are you still passionate about your blog? Do you love the content you write? What do you not like about your blog anymore? Answering those questions will help you understand your blog and its future.

Nobody thinks about these questions or situation when they first start blogging but it’s always good to remind yourself that you have the option to change everything and anything when it comes to your blog. If you don’t like your niche anymore, you can change it. If you are interested about another topic, you can write about it.

MOVE ON TO THE NEXT CHAPTER

If deep in your heart, you know that your blog doesn’t feel the same way anymore then it’s time to move on. It’s not a bad thing at all and you shouldn’t feel embarrassed or ashamed of it. Not everyone stays in this community. People come and go, some stay whilst some don’t. It’s completely normal.

However, if you have that uncertainty in your mind, I would highly recommend not to delete your blog. Especially, if it’s on a free hosting service platform. Your blog will always remain in the same place you left. It doesn’t matter if it’s a month, year or 10 years from now – you can still come back and it wouldn’t feel any less different.

  1. It is important to take those breaks. I think burnout is the biggest reason to fall out of love for writing and blogging. It’s essential to have a couple of days where we don’t sit and write anything. Maybe just schedule for those and take a break. Also we must never feel forced and only do what feels right and is fun in order to k bloggin happily. Great post!

  2. Very well said. Sometimes you feel a little bit distracted from blogging…after all there is another things in life that are important for you as well as your blog! I feel the same lately 💖

  3. Love this! Luckily I’ve never felt bored etc. of blogging so haven’t encountered these problems myself but sometimes it’s definitely good to have a little re-brand / refresh!

  4. I’m at this point right now and have been for a while. I am proud of my blog, I love what it represents but it just isn’t getting to where I need it to be… and that is very demoralizing. Life is also happening, so when I weigh out pouring my heart into a blog that isn’t giving back what I need vs doing other things, that delete button seems rather attractive.

    1. I’m so sorry to hear that, everyone goes through it at some point. I know it’s easier said than done but take a break to reflect on everything and don’t give up. Don’t take permanent actions based on temporary feelings ❤️

  5. Honestly, I’m always contemplating if i should continue next year as I’ve always been on and off the blogging world plus i have lesser audience and support. I have limited time and i could only even interact when i post for my blog as well as this is the only time where i could check past posts too. Blogging is not on my priorities but i don’t want to stop writing and just move on with it. I’m hesitant to stop even if i go hiatus often because i know deep in my heart, i want to create more if only I had more time and energy left after an exhausting week. I usually take breaks and that’s often happening in my blog and when i come back, i feel inspired again.

    1. Do what’s best for you! 🙌🏼 It doesn’t matter if you take a hiatus or break every month, what matters is you writing something and posting it on your blog. If taking breaks works for you and makes you feel inspired again so be it! ❤️

  6. I love this post, there are definitely times when I park it up especially when I write my heart out and my traffic is close to nil, but deep down I can’t leave it. Glad to know I don’t feel the same.
