3 Effective Activities to Slow Down Time.

A few weeks ago, I wrote down a number of relaxing activities you could do to make time go faster and now, I wanted to do the complete opposite and write down a few activities you could do to slow down time.

Instead of mentioning a list of things you could do, I really wanted the focus to be something personal to you and something everyone could do regardless of their interest & personal preference. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

DOING SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP YOU LOAD OFF THINGS

This one is a bit tricky because technically, it doesn’t bring you peace nor joy while you are doing it but you do get instant peace & happiness afterwards which is doing something that will help you load off things, something that has been on your current to-do list but you have pushing it back for various reasons.

I am not going to lie and say that this activity will be easy but it’s so worth it in the long run. You will physically feel a weight off your shoulders and there is nothing more satisfying or relaxing than that. This task will not only help you be productive but it will also slow down time. You might be thinking that you have been doing something for hours but in actual reality, it might only be for 5 mins.

DOING SOMETHING TO DISTRACT YOUR MIND

This is something I mention quite frequently on my blog which is doing something to distract your mind. This will not only slow down time but it will also ease your mind from your troubles, anxiety & stress – at least for a short period of time. There are many activities a person could do to distract their mind, this varies from person-to-person and their personal preference in general.

Personally, my favourite one is playing games. If you have been reading my blog for a long time then you would know that the games I mention often are Mario Kart & Yu-Gi-Oh but I do play games through websites as well. Most of the times there is a misconception that games on websites are targeted towards children which couldn’t be farther from the truth.

I’ve always played games on websites ever since I was little and I’ve recommend some websites on my blog throughout the years as well and a few of my recent favourites have been Merge Blocks and Chinese New Year Mahjong. Both games which are very reminiscent of my childhood.

I would say that Merge Blocks is very calming and relaxing as it doesn’t require much effort from your side but it’s also very aesthetically pleasing in a way whilst Chinese New Year Mahjong is all about effectiveness and speed. DOING SOMETHING THAT WILL FREE YOUR MIND

One of the hardest things to do is keeping your mind silent, not only from your inner voice but also from outer voices. One of the best ways of achieving that is by focusing on yourself which will not only help you relax but it will also slow down time. Some people prefer meditating to achieve this process whereas others prefer sitting by themselves and look at the view from their windows.

Some people even lay down on their bed to achieve this process which brings up the topic of how important your sleeping space is if you truly want to free your mind. There is a big difference between sleeping & resting in a comfortable space versus having a space to sleep in, you might feel like you are resting & sleeping but if you don’t feel energised or rejuvenated afterwards then it’s a sign that you need to change something.

Most of the times, changing the mattress will make a drastic difference which doesn’t only include the type but the size as well. Super-king mattresses can really give you the comfort & freedom you didn’t know you lacked and even better sleep quality if you have the space for it.
