TRUSTING YOUR GUT

As there is a fine line between getting out of your comfort zone and discomfort, it can be difficult to figure out if what you are feeling at the moment is your instinct or anxiety/stress. With that said, do listen to your instinct. If you are feeling something is wrong then the chances are that things might be wrong.

Sometimes, pushing through your discomfort will not give you the experiences, benefits or rewards you hope to receive. On the other hand, it might change the trajectory of your life and not in a better way.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR FLIGHT-OR-FIGHT RESPONSE

I think it’s extremely important to listen to your flight-or-fight response because they do not get triggered without a specific reason especially if you are on the verge of getting out of your comfort. Yes, you might get nervous and stressed before getting out your comfort zone or whenever you start something new while you are uncertain of what it’s going to bring to your future but it wouldn’t trigger your flight-or-fight response to protect yourself.

This is a sign of your body letting you know of the patterns it has seen and the impact it has had on you. For example, when you are starting a new job it’s totally okay to feel nervous, anxious or even panic at the idea of starting something new in a completely new environment but if you feel an overwhelming amount of dread, anxiety, fear & stress every single day when you go to work and you start worrying the night before then that’s not something normal.
