The One New Year’s Resolution You Should Have.

It’s that time of the year when everyone is either reflecting on the past year or planning & anticipating for the new year. Many people have already started working on their new year’s resolutions as well. It’s something I’ve mentioned before on my blog but the concept of new year’s resolutions has changed tremendously for me during the last few years and the way I approach them.

However, whether you plan on having a new year’s resolution or not, I would say to have at least a few goals in mind. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you 3 new year’s resolutions which I think everyone should have but technically, they all have the same end result (which is peace of mind) so you could take into consideration either one of them. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

CREATING BOUNDARIES WITH YOURSELF

It’s important to create and establish boundaries with other people but it’s as important to create boundaries within yourself if you truly want to grow or better yourself as a person. You have to reflect on your own actions & words and figure out what you liked or disliked, what triggered a certain reaction or not, what aligned with your morals & values or not, etc. in order to be the person you would like to be and create a stress-free life.

STAYING DISCIPLINED

I would probably say that one of the hardest things you could do is staying disciplined especially in a world where there is distraction and obstacles around every corner. However, once you start holding yourself to a certain standard then it’s probably the most easiest and organic thing ever. Discipline offers you more than clarity and motivation, it offers you a deep insight into who you are as a person.

PRIORITISING A HOBBY PURELY FOR YOURSELF

Last but not least, it’s something I’ve already mentioned on my blog before but you should have a hobby just for yourself. We pretty much live in a time where hobbies have to either be productive or profitable and if they are just for pleasure then they can be seen as a waste of time which I think this notion is wrong on so many levels.

There are so many hobbies and they all have a different purpose. At the end of the day, it’s about doing something that makes you happy and help you move forward with life and its hardships. Some hobbies require you to create something whereas others require you to appreciate the art of another. Some require you to socialise with other people and some to express yourself. Regardless of what hobby it is, I would highly recommend dedicating your spare time on doing something that you enjoy doing.
