3 Habits to Feel Warm & Content.

Many habits are usually focused on productivity and efficiency, sometimes even on motivation but I think it’s important that some habits are completely focused on relaxation and warmth. If there is something I’ve learnt during the past few years is the fact if we want to strive & grow then we should learn to find a balance between tranquility and efficiency.

In today’s post, I wanted to share with you some habits that make me feel warm & content. I know everyone is different and what works for me might not work for another and vice versa but these are some examples and they might give you an idea as to what might work for you. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

WATCHING THE VIEW OUTSIDE WHILE HAVING A WARM BEVERAGE

It’s something I’ve mentioned once or twice on my blog but I’ve always liked to look at the view from my window. It’s something I’ve enjoyed doing since I was a child and it has accompanied me into adulthood as well. The only difference now is that I have a warm beverage which is either a cup of green tea or hot chocolate and try to savour this warm feeling.

There is something so calming about the sky and when you try to see further down your view depending on where you live, you can see so many minuscule houses & buildings and it makes me feel like I’m not really alone in this world and so many people are going through their own silent battles and still trying to smile.

READING WITH A SOFT & FUZZY BLANKET

If you’ve been reading my blog for a long time then you already know this but I love reading. I would say my relationship with reading hasn’t always been consistent because of life’s hardships but if there is something I’ve realised about myself is the fact that I need to read at least a few pages per day otherwise I can totally notice a difference in my mood which isn’t something I’m proud of.

Now, I make it into a habit to read but also to fully indulge myself into it because if you don’t enjoy these small joys in life then what’s the point of living or surviving everyday? I usually use one to two blankets to cover myself since it’s wintertime now and the majority of the time I don’t listen to anything while reading but recently I’ve started to listen to music and it’s quite a nice feeling. I tend to prefer listening to lo-fi or classical music as other types of music or songs can be a bit distracting to me.

LAYING DOWN & CLOSING YOUR EYES FOR 10 MINUTES WHEN YOU FEEL TIRED

I have never been into naps or understood how someone could nap during the day and still sleep at night, it was one of those things I’ve always been intrigued about because I’m the type of person that can’t fall asleep even if force myself to. However, now that I’m older I can understand very well as to why people napped/nap especially if they’ve had a long & tiring day or if they haven’t been able to sleep for a long amount of time.

I would say that I’m still not really a fan of naps and that is mainly because I feel extremely uncomfortable and sick afterwards even if it’s only a 10 minute nap but if it’s something that works for you, I would highly recommend giving it a try.

Instead when I feel tired or reach a point where I need a break, I lay down and close my eyes for 10 minutes. Even though I don’t sleep, it makes me feel recharged and refreshed, and sometimes this is the part of the day when I’m most looking forward to because it gives me genuine peace & contentment.

  1. Loved these ideas! Merging two of your ideas together I think it would be really nice to read whilst occasionally taking in the view of outside ✨️. I like the idea of closing your eyes for 10 minutes, like a little zone out. Thank you for this beautiful post 😊💗

  2. If I lay down when I’m tired, I’m out in less than 5 mins. I used to be an expert power napper. Now I avoid naps since they’re like to stretch longer than I want them too.
