Every person views self-care in an unique way depending on their preference and circumstance. Some people might view it as an act of taking care of themselves whereas some might view it as a part of an extensive routine. I personally think the best way to view & utilise self-care is as something to incorporate into your daily routine to relax.
Obviously, relaxation means something different for everyone and that’s why in today’s post I wanted to share with you a few of my non-negotiable self-care habits. These are the things I do on a daily basis which not only help me relax but also feel good in myself. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

READING
Reading has become an integral part of my life, this is a hobby that brings me joy & enjoyment (and even enrichment). Incorporate a hobby into your routine which brings out those same emotions into your life. Something that you can see yourself doing in your spare time without having to force yourself.
I would even go as far as saying to incorporate something that is purely for yourself alone, something that you don’t have to share with others or monetise. In my case, it’s reading but it could be something completely different in your case whether it’s playing video games, gardening, painting, crocheting, etc.

EXERCISING
There is a very good reason as to why exercise is encouraged for everyone. It’s much more than getting your dream body but more so about the health benefits it brings to your body, and it’s only something you start realising as you get older. This is one of the habits that I would highly encourage for everyone to include in their routine.
You don’t necessarily have to go to the gym in order to exercise, even a good walk can be extremely beneficial if you start doing it on a regular basis. If you are someone who struggles to find time to work out then start incorporating healthy habits into your routine no matter how insignificant they might seem.
Instead of laying down to scroll your phone, do it while walking in your room, living area or even hallway/corridor depending on your living circumstance. Instead of eating three pieces of chocolate everyday, start eating two. It’s not about making a drastic difference to your lifestyle but about making a slow & steady progress to a healthier lifestyle in order to move your body freely.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR SKIN
This is something I mention quite often on my blog but you have to take care of your skin. A lot of people equate self-care to skincare or even find both terms to be intertwined with one another which makes a lot of sense since your skin is an important part to yourself.
If you don’t take care of your skin, people can instantly see it and no, it’s not about having the most flawless & smooth skin with no pores or acne – it’s about making sure that your skin is cleansed, moisturised, and about giving the nutrients your skin needs when it clearly shows signs asking for it.
You don’t need to have a complex skincare routine or even a skincare routine that incorporates dozens of products to take care of your skin, using the necessary products depending on your skin type is what matters the most.
