I mentioned about the notion of rewarding yourself before or after a stressful day a few times on my blog and I’m sure many of you already know how to utilise this concept but for those who don’t then this post is for you!
In today’s post, I wanted to share with you a few ways to reward yourself. The concept might seem strange or even cringe-y but I think it’s one of the most effective and helpful methods when it comes to alleviating the stress you’re feeling and transforming it into an appreciation for your efforts. Aujourd’hui, je voulais partager avec vous quelques façons de vous récompenser. Le concept peut paraître étrange, voire un peu gênant, mais je pense que c’est l’une des méthodes les plus efficaces et utiles pour apaiser le stress et le transformer en reconnaissance de vos efforts. DO SOMETHING THAT YOU’VE BEEN PLANNING TO DO BUT HAVEN’T
There are many things you might want to do but haven’t due to time constraints, circumstances or even just due to your mood. This is the occasion to bring back that activity or action in order to reward yourself.
Did you want to watch a specific movie? Did you want to play a video game the entire evening? Did you want to read a book you’ve been anticipating for a while? All these examples completely depend on your preferences but if you wanted to do these things but haven’t then turn them into rewards for yourself.

DO SOMETHING THAT GIVES YOU COMFORT
A reward doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive or materialistic. It’s all about the emotions it brings you which in this case, a reward can bring you comfort. What’s something that you would consider to be a comforting act or a pamper routine for yourself?
The answer to this question would be your reward. For instance, for some it might be a relaxing evening just chilling at home whereas for others, it might be spending time with their loved ones and having a good time with them. As I mentioned previously, this all depends on your personal preferences and there is no right or wrong answer.

DO SOMETHING THAT BRINGS YOU JOY & RELAXATION
I’m pretty sure this is something you might have already guessed but a reward is about joy and relaxation. What brings you joy while at the same time relaxation? The truth is there are so many things that can bring you joy but it can be difficult to find something that brings you a multitude of emotions including joy which in this case is joy as well as relaxation.
Once again, the answer totally depends on your personality and your own preferences and if you can’t find anything that brings you these emotions then this is the perfect opportunity to brainstorm something. I personally think that life is way too short to be constantly living on survival mode, sometimes you have to take control over certain aspects of your life and prioritise and put yourself first before others.
