Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is hugely important for anyone operating a website. If you don’t continually optimise for search, no-one will know your website exists. Of course, your best option would be to consult an SEO agency for support but for bloggers and other website owners who don’t have a big budget, this isn’t always possible. Instead, you need to have at least a basic understanding of SEO to keep you in the game. Read on for some tips to get you on the right track.
Always do your keyword research before starting an article starting a blog post so that your writing is relevant to your niche. There are lots of tools you can use online to help with this. You’re probably incorporating keywords in your text naturally anyway, but adding the most popular keywords into headings, subheadings and anchor text will also be highly beneficial. Always aim for minimum of 300 words whenever you write something, as Google favours longer articles.
Building up both internal and external links is also a useful tactic because it helps Google understand what your website is about and how it is structured. Every backlink you receive acts as a vote of confidence for Google as it implies people are actually interested in your website. This will help with your rankings on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP), which will encourage more visitors. One method for getting backlinks is to write guest posts for other bloggers.
Ensuring your blog is Google friendly isn’t a quick or easy task, it’s an ongoing process, but working hard on it will improve your domain authority, which will eventually help you monetise your blog. Try and refrain from posting below average articles just for the sake of it, as this will go against you more than anything.

A few months ago, a lot of English teachers in my school have discovered my personal website and my website’s visitors amount were increased until now, so I don’t need to display my website in search engines and SEO services to prevent spam. I already have some other ways to promote my website and my YouTube channel such as creating business cards. However, your suggestions are very good. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Those are good options to increase site traffic, and keep it high. However none of them will bring you as much traffic as an Article that Ranks #1 on Google for a keyohrase that receives a million searches a month.
Which of course you cannot achieve without astounding SEO.
I meant “Keyphrase”, sorry.
Thank you for the tip

There’s a couple things here I’d be wary of stating as fact (as a picky marketing agency person) but I always encourage bloggers to write content like this because I think it can help others bloggers understand 😊
Thanks for reading! 😊

“Always aim for minimum of 300 words whenever you write something, as Google favours longer articles.”
I have read many blogs that say you should write 200-250 words because people get tired and don’t read longer. It turns out, no google for them, interesting.
People get tired regardless of how long the post is. I really think it depends on the content and what your readers want to read. But Google definitely prefers longer articles! Thanks for reading x
The most shared articles online are 3,000+ words. They get shared up to 10 times as much as the second most shared article length–which is 1,000-1,500 words. It seems only logical for people to get bored after 1,000 words, and hence share 250-word Articles, but unfortunately that’s not how it works. If that was how it works countless Bloggers would be getting shared 24/7.
You see people that share do so for one of three reasons 90% of the time:
1. Interest
2. Politics/News
3. Information
Either they have interest in the subject, they specialize in it/are trying to specialize in it and share the information, they want to prove themselves “Right” politically, or they find a certain news event “Funny”, “Despicable”, et, cetera, et, cetera.
And the only Articles in this category under 500 words are The Politics/News one’s. Yet they get shared significantly less than say an Article about “23 Awesome Waterfalls”, or “7 Ways To Jumpstart A Car”.
Great post! What sites do you recommend for keyword research? Hoping to find some decent free ones…

Really great information ! But here I share my opinion for Top 10 Important SEO Tips For Website ( Before start a website following points are most important for SEO as well as Ranking factors )
1) Do Keyword Research
2) Add Internal Links
I’ve linked my wordpress blog to my website, http://www.rjhcopy.com, and I’m wondering if it can have a negative SEO impact. I used an SEO analysis tool and it reported my blog page to have a high amount of duplicate content, presumably because it is the same content as my wordpress site. Should I stop my wordpress blog to favour my website?
I would recommend to transfer your content if you haven’t already otherwise all the tools will say you have duplicate content. You don’t need to stop your blog, you only need to transfer all the data from your wordpress blog to your website. Any hosting company will do that for free.
Perfect, great tip. Thanks a lot for your help 🙂
My pleasure ☺️
