3 Ways To Take Care Of Yourself.

For the longest time, when people said to take care of myself at the end of a conversation, it sounded more like parting words than anything – not that it didn’t seem genuine but it just felt like a nice way to say ‘bye’. On the other hand, when it was on the other end of the spectrum – it was the complete opposite. When I said it, I meant for that person to stay safe and to take care of themselves physically & emotionally.

That’s when I realised that not only was it hypocritical in a way but also the fact that the things we say might not be fully acknowledged or comprehended by the other party if we are not super specific about it or if it’s repetitive. That’s why in today’s post, I wanted to share with you what I consider or think about when I’m saying to take care of yourself. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

DOING SOMETHING TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE HEALTHY

When you speak about health, most of the times people would associate it with your diet which isn’t technically wrong but there is so much more into it. Going to the doctor’s and taking a blood test to check what nutrients you need to incorporate into your diet is a must especially if you’ve been feeling tired or low on energy. You can also start taking multivitamins which is a great way to boost your energy levels but also provide healthy nutrients to your body.

However, consult your doctor before taking anything and if you do plan on taking multivitamins – remember that the most common side effects are stomach pain, diarrhoea or constipation. Usually, they will stop after a couple of days once your body starts getting used to it but if they don’t then please, stop taking them.

DOING SOMETHING TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN

Another thing that many people forget or don’t consider as a big deal is their skin. If your body is your vessel then your skin plays an important role in that aspect. Using skincare products on a daily basis is not only important but also effective regardless the time of the year or your skin type.

At the beginning of this year, I was grateful enough to have received some products from facetheory and I’ve been using them consistently since then and now after almost a year, I can vouch that their products are extremely good for people who have dry or sensitive skin. If you have a similar skin type as I, make sure to check out their vitamin C range.

DOING SOMETHING TO PRIORITISE YOURSELF & RELAX

Last but not least, the main point of taking care of yourself should be to prioritise yourself and relax. It’s completely ok to focus on your responsibilities and to take care of your loved ones but if you want to be the best version of yourself thus give your best to others then you have to put your needs & wants first.

Obviously, there might be a few circumstances when you will have to prioritise something or someone else but ultimately, the goal should never be to stray away from taking care of yourself. If you don’t take care of yourself then nobody else will.
