3 Ways to Stay Focused and Improve Your Concentration Span.

Is it only me but has anybody else noticed that their attention span has shortened ever since the rise of social media? I know there are big debates regarding this topic but without going too deep into it, the fact that it has had an impact on music and long/short format content both in the media and social media say a lot about this matter.

Although I use my blog consistently, I don’t really use social media platforms that often but I still noticed a difference when consuming content and even a shift in my concentration level which made me realise how much social media and its short format content had an impact.

In today’s post, I wanted to share with you a few ways to stay focused and improve your concentration span. As always, if you’re interested – keep on reading!

START WITH SMALL TASKS

From my personal experience, if you notice a shift in your concentration span then start working on small tasks at first—this could be applied for both significant and insignificant things.

For instance, if you catch yourself not being able to watch a YouTube video in its entirety without skipping or forwarding it then start off by watching short videos. You could apply the same thing with movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc.

NURTURE YOUR BODY & MIND

This goes without saying that if you have been feeling tired for a long period of time then it will eventually have an impact on your energy level and concentration span. Sleeping for at least 8 hours per day and having a healthy diet by eating 3 meals per day will make you see a difference in the way you feel.

INCORPORATE A GOAL OR A ROUTINE

You could start incorporating a small goal or even a routine to stay focused as well. You could set aside time every day to work or finish a task or you could create a routine to form a structure which will allow you to not only stay focused but also increase your concentration span. With time, this wouldn’t really feel like a goal or a routine anymore but just an everyday task.
