1 | CREATING A CHECKLIST

I cannot stress how important it is that you create a checklist in order to make sure that you have noted all the important details when it comes to your move. It’s so easy to forget crucial details when you are focused on other parts of your moving process but having a checklist will help you and remind you of every single detail such as switching your address, contacting your utility suppliers, etc.

2 | FINDING ALL THE RESOURCES

This point ties with the previous one but it’s extremely important that you find and contact all your resources in terms of moving whether it be removal companies, help from your loved ones, etc. Most of the times, top rated removals are booked weeks or even months beforehand therefore if you want to get availability especially when it comes to London moving services then contact them as soon as possible. The same applies with your loved ones, ask them in advance if they would be available to help you move on a specific date in order for you to prepare a backup plan in case they aren’t available.

3 | ORGANISING YOUR THINGS (& FINANCES) BEFOREHAND

We often organise our things & finances prior to the moving process when you are trying to get everything done in paper first but after you have completed the paperwork, it’s so easy to spend money without double checking if those costs are really necessary because everything will seem essential at that point or you might find out that you have new fees to cover therefore it might be harder to track down every single thing during this stressful situation.

If you know or are planning to move out then start organising everything right this moment, not only will this save you time but also a lot of stress when it comes to managing all your belongings and mainly your finances. You will know from the get-go what you want to take with you and you will also have an idea of how much money you might have to spend on your moving process as well as additional costs you might require.

4 | DOING THE LEAST STRESSFUL PARTS AT THE END

This is more of a personal preference but doing the least stressful parts at the end and the most stressful ones at the beginning will help you feel less anxious about this entire ordeal, you will literally feel weight lifted off your shoulders by the end of it because you will know subconsciously that you have finished the most complicated & stressful parts at the beginning and that you can finally relax now.

5 | DOUBLE CHECKING EVERYTHING

Last but not least, always double check everything. It doesn’t matter if you are 100% sure about something, there is no harm in making sure that it’s done or in checking if it’s the way it’s supposed to be. You might think it’s insignificant but in the grand scheme of things, this might change your entire moving experience.

    1. I agree that it gives you the chance to declutter, but I wouldn’t say it’s the _only_ perk. I think it also gives you the chance at a fresh start. New opportunities. New connections. And a chance to grow.

    2. One of the perks of it is definitely the opportunity to get rid of unnecessary things you have but it can easily become overwhelming if you have to declutter a lot of items 😅 thank you so much for reading ❤️

  1. There’s something about moves I just love, most likely the fresh start, organized aspect of it. I always start to get that urge to move after a certain amount of time in one place.
