SETTING BOUNDARIES

This is something I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog but you should never feel bad about setting clear boundaries whether it be towards your family, friends, loved ones, colleagues, acquaintances, etc. Someone who respects you will never find your boundaries to be insulting or unfair, only someone who doesn’t will.

At the end of the day, those boundaries aren’t only established to protect you but also to keep you safe both mentally & physically. By setting boundaries, you are allowing yourself to have the space to experience peace but also for the relationship you have with the other party to thrive or in some cases to finally close. How can you have a fruitful relationship if you feel discomfort by that person’s words or actions?

SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS & FEELINGS

I know many people are apprehensive when it comes to sharing their thoughts & feelings out loud to others or even to their loved ones for multiple different reasons but I truly believe that if there is something you can do unapologetically is to share what’s on your mind & heart. What really matters isn’t the things you say but the way you say it.

As long as you exude kindness, empathy & respect with your words, I don’t think anybody will take it the wrong way and if somebody does take it the wrong way because they have a different opinion compared to yours then you have to reevaluate if hiding your true thoughts is better or letting your feelings out is relieving. In the grand scheme of things, only one of them will help you find joy & peace long term.

BEING YOURSELF

This point kind of relates to the previous one that is to be unapologetically yourself. It’s such a small & simple statement that encompasses so many different things all in once. Being yourself is much more than sharing your thoughts & feelings comfortably, it’s about standing up for what truly matters to you, not changing yourself or your morals, values or beliefs for other people and mainly not trying to fit in with a group of people because you feel that you aren’t good or worthy enough as you are.

  1. Hey NL 🙂

Another AWESOME post! You seem to be on a roll! 😀

I actually looked up “unapologetic” (bc of the way you mentioned it here) … and it IS available in some TLDs … but only a few (and perhaps also only at a “premium” rate).
