APPRECIATING & PRIORITISING THE SMALL JOYS IN LIFE
I’m pretty sure I sound like a broken record by this point about how much I’ve emphasised this point but there is a reason why I stress about appreciating and prioritising the small joys in your life because those are the things that keep you moving forward despite the hardships you face and they are the ones who give you comfort when dealing with sadness & anxiety.
One of the great things about small joys in life is the fact they are all unique to each and every person, and they don’t have to make sense for anybody else apart from you. It could be the smell of the first coffee of the day you drink, it could the rays of sunshine you see after a few cloudy days, it could be the time you spent talking to a friend, it could be the movie you enjoyed watching, etc.

BEING CONTENT
A lot of people assume that what makes life feel fulfilled or enjoyable is happiness which isn’t completely wrong but that’s not the entire answer either. The only thing that will make your life feel fulfilled is contentment which is something that will only be achieved if you truly feel content about who you are as a person and where you are in life.
Being content doesn’t take away any of your goals & dreams, it’s about being satisfied about the goals & dreams you’ve achieved so far and still being satisfied regardless of whether you achieve your next/other goals & dreams. There is often a misconception that being content equates to not being sad or anxious which is false. It’s about accepting and acknowledging who you are as a person including your qualities, flaws, strengths and weaknesses.

FINDING THE BALANCE BETWEEN MODESTY & BOASTFULNESS
Some people think that living a slow-paced & quiet life means that you can’t have or shouldn’t experience any high-end or luxury products which is far from the truth. You can still experience a luxurious and expensive lifestyle but what makes the biggest difference is you finding the right balance of humility & modesty when experiencing those things.
It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be proud of your accomplishments and for all the things you’ve earned but there is only a fine line between confidence and arrogance. When you stop appreciating the things you worked so hard for and forget how privileged you are to be in a position where you can afford all these opportunities – that’s when you start feeling unfulfilled and start to wander for the next best thing.

So True
I appreciate this kind of content it reminds me a bit of the content you can get in a website called… tiny Buddha…. And…. I think reassurance is something we are all a bit short on these days in this world where we are shown what we should or shouldn’t have or be on various channells of influence… keep it going.
I am in my journey to a quieter life and slow living. Thanks for sharing this.
