I will be lying if I said that I didn’t feel this pressing fear & anxiety every time I felt at peace but I know it’s something manageable. NOT OVER-WORRYING & OVERTHINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE

It’s something I’ve mentioned quite a few times on my blog but it’s something very fitting for so many things and that is not to over-worry & overthink about the future.

The harsh truth is that you aren’t in control of anything in life, including the things you are most certain of or believe you are in control of.

Worrying about the future will only ruin your present and the only impact it will have on your future is on yourself through your mental health and well-being.

DISTRACTING YOURSELF WITH THE SMALL JOYS IN YOUR LIFE

I’m a firm believer that life is meant to be enjoyed through the small joys in life. Nobody can be happy 24/7, let alone experience big moments of joy every single day. Not only is it unrealistic but also impractical.

The only way to experience happiness on a regular or daily basis is through the things that bring you joy & enjoyment. They will not only remind you of the joy that is available to you but they will also distract you from any negative thoughts.

BEING IN A CALM STATE OF MIND

The pattern you can notice in this situation is the overwhelming amount of emotions a person experiences whether it’s anxiety, fear or stress. The only way to keep those emotions at bay is through a state of calmness. You can obviously reach this state by distracting yourself but it might only work temporarily.

This is the reason why many people practice the act of mindfulness, meditation or even journaling because all those methods help you remove a weight off your shoulders and bring you into a state of clarity & calmness. However, it’s important to note that you can do any activity which achieves this result. Some people are able to be in a calm state of mind through drawing or painting so do what works for you instead of focusing on something that works for others.

    1. I wish there was an on/off button for anxiety but unfortunately, there isn’t such thing. It’s something you have to learn to live with for the rest of your life.
