If you search on social media or simply on the internet, there are so many posts and videos about romanticising and encouraging a slower paced life, which in my opinion is a good thing. Not only does it allow you to enjoy the present but it also helps you process your own thoughts & emotions in a slow manner.
In today’s post, I wanted to explore the notion of inviting a slower pace into your life, not just with your routines but also with your paths, accomplishments and goals. As always, if you’re interested – keep on reading!

BOREDOM ISN’T UNPRODUCTIVE NOR BAD
Some people might be against the idea or simply might not be a fan of a slower paced life because they assume it would create boredom thus laziness. I personally think boredom isn’t a bad thing at all.
It’s something I’ve mentioned on my blog once but a boring day means that you aren’t going through a hardship, obstacle or problem in your life because there isn’t anything you have to worry, think or stress about.
It’s easy to equate boredom with a negative emotion because it might feel like you aren’t doing anything productive or efficient with your time but boring days are peaceful days. With peace comes joy, contentment and fulfilment.

BEING A LATE BLOOMER WILL ALWAYS BE A BENEFIT
I don’t necessarily think that being a late bloomer intertwines with the idea of living a slow paced life, but at the same time there is a connection with both because neither of them allow the slowness of time to be weaponised as a flaw or weakness, but rather as an asset and tool.
With slowness, it’s easy to think it might slow or even decrease your opportunities at achieving and gaining success whether that be materialistic things, relationships, or even new paths in life, etc. However, it’s important to note that there is a difference between slowness and stagnation.
Everyone’s pace is different, your accomplishments are valuable and worthy as anyone else’s, regardless of the age you achieved them. It’s important to note that your achievements and happiness might look different to somebody else’s but it doesn’t mean that they are any less special or meaningful. As long as you try to better yourself, grow and learn—you will always be moving forward in life.

A SLOW PACE IS A RARITY IN A HYPERACTIVE SOCIETY
I do think it’s very difficult to live a slow paced life in this hyperactive world, everyone is constantly on the move and doing several different things at once—but I don’t think it’s impossible.
I think it starts with being kinder to yourself and taking the time to do what you like and what you need to do in order to feel good with yourself. It also means allowing yourself to experience things at their own pace without adding a deadline to the things and experiences that will bring joy and comfort into your life.
Being able to live a slow paced life is not just a gift but also a blessing because many people’s circumstances don’t allow them to afford this luxury, if you have the possibility to do it then you should take advantage of it no matter how small it is.
