1 | CONTACT THE BLOGGER
Before you start contacting any bloggers, I’d recommend to brainstorm some blog post ideas depending on your niche. From that way you’ll already have some ideas prepared in your mind.
Contact bloggers that are in the same niche as you, for example there’s no point in writing a beauty related blog post on a travel blog. In addition, contact bloggers that have around the same number of followers/traffic as you. You’ll be most likely to be accepted from them than bloggers who have a large number of followers.
Some bloggers don’t accept guest posts on their blogs so before contacting anyone, check on their contact/disclaimer page if they have mentioned anything in regards to this subject. If you get turned down, don’t get discouraged. Most bloggers don’t accept guest posts and that’s completely normal. There’s nothing wrong in asking, in case they’re interested it will be beneficial for both you and your blog.
I’ve never written guest posts but a tip I’d recommend is to be polite and not too straightforward. Let the blogger know why you love their blog and why you would like to write a guest post for them, be honest and genuine. Don’t say the reason you would like to work with them is because they have a huge following because that’s not really nice, isn’t it?
Note that most people think that guest posts and blog collabs are the same which isn’t! With blog collabs, both bloggers will write a blog post for each other’s blog, that’s why it’s a collab because you both get benefits from it.
However with a guest post, only the person who contacts the blogger will write a blog post so it’s completely up to the blogger to decide whether or not they want to work with you because at the end of the day, they don’t get any benefits from it unless your blog post is very creative and helpful for their audience.
Also, some bloggers only accept paid guest posts which means you have to pay them in order to write a post on their blog. If you’re going to pay, make sure that the blog you choose gets a lot of traffic which you can obviously see by the number of likes, followers and comments.

2 | START WRITING CONTENT
After your request has been accepted, you’ll both brainstorm ideas or you can offer the ideas you already have in mind. If the blogger approves then the next step is to start writing the blog post. You can provide pictures as well, it all depends on the blog post and blogger in question.

3 | SHOW YOUR CREATIVITY
The next step is content writing! As I mentioned previously, you’ll already have brainstormed and planned what the blog post is all about so now you only need to write it. Write as if it was one of your usual blog posts, don’t overthink it! But make sure to show your creativity and share your knowledge because you want their audience to check out your blog. Especially if you’re paying to write a guest post, make sure to give it your all!

4 | CONTENT PUBLISHED!
Once the blog post has been approved by the blogger, they’ll publish it on their blog! Obviously they’ll leave your website link and other information such as social media (it’s all up to their preference) in the blog post.

Thanks for laying out the process. I will be using this information soon. 🌺🌸🌻
My pleasure 💗
I’d also recommend that guest bloggers check out any requirements about responding to the comments left on their guest post. I’ve left several comments on guest posts and never got a response or acknowledgement from the guest blogger. It’s a sure way of not following the blog of the guest blogger. Not only that, but it can also have a negative effect on the host blogger. I’ve gone as far of deleting a guest post on my blog because the guest blogger did not respond to the comments left, despite me informing them that it was a requirement.
I absolutely agree with you! The guest blogger should make sure they follow all the requirements established by the blogger. Thank you for reading!
Perhaps I’m being naive, but I love people to read my work, I also love the thought someone would want to write about my blog, me, my content. I couldn’t imagine asking for money! I believe we can all help one another – after all we all had to start somewhere.
No, you are not being naive! It’s amazing that someone would want to write on your blog but at the same time there isn’t anything wrong asking for money either. I don’t see anything wrong with asking for money when you have a successful blog that gets a lot of traffic but on the other hand, if your blog doesn’t get a lot of traffic – it’s absolutely wrong!
That’s why I wouldn’t ask for money. My blog doesn’t get a lot of traffic – but gives me immense pleasure.
At the end of the day that’s what matters 😊
I’ve thought a lot about doing this but haven’t done it much. I think it’s a great idea.
It is!
That’s awesome it’s can be a collaboration between bloggers, financial not for start maybe later but doing a collaboration will be great. Is its good to do a guess post with another blogger that’s not motivational rather artistic? One can advise the followers for hand and say why ones is doing, I am just saying
It’s all up to your preference and the blogger in question and as long as the blogger agrees with whatever you want to write about.
Making a collaboration with another blogger will be awesome,
Awesome . making a collaboration with other bloggers will be great
Yes!
These bullet points are helpful!

Thank you!
Good advice 🙂
Thank you! ☺️
In situations where the bloggers don’t give you the chance to share your website link or social media in the guest post, what do you do?
Plus, is it advisable to duplicate a guest post?
I mean if a reader clicks on your link, the article is still available on your website.
If the bloggers don’t give your a change to share your website link or social media then I’d find that a bit dodgy and wouldn’t recommend working/collaborating with them. The whole point of writing a guest post is to share your details so if they don’t give you the chance then what’s the point of writing a post in the first place? 🤷🏻♀️
And I wouldn’t recommend to duplicate a guest post. The guest post should only be available on the blogger’s website and not yours. It’s something you can do but I wouldn’t really recommend it.
Thanks for the tip and prompt response.
You’re welcome!
Some food for thought…. 🙂

I Do Overthink for blog ideas, Guest blogging is the best way to grow a blog, Thanks for your tips.
My pleasure!
Hey guys!! My blog is open for Guest Blogging. Check out my post –
for further details.
I’ve never written a guest post before, I guess it’s because I never accept them either. I get random companies wanting to guest post on my blog but I would rather remain the only voice on my blog. I think it would be different if an actual blogger asked me, not random corporations!
On one hand, like you I want to remain the only voice on my blog and on another hand, I like to idea of another blogger or company writing a blog post on my blog as long as they are honest, authentic and fit with my blog niche.
Reblogged this on .
Thank you ❤️
Welcome
