Writing a blog post is definitely very time consuming but it can also be difficult depending on the niche or topic you are writing about. By the time you finish writing, the last thing you want to do is to check if you have done every single task related to your article.
There aren’t actually a lot of tasks in terms of writing a blog post but you definitely need to make sure a couple of things before you click the “Publish” button. I’m pretty sure these are things you already do or know but I wanted to make sure you know them in case if you didn’t already know. As always, if you are interested – keep on reading!

MAKE SURE THE BLOG POST IS COMPLETE
Always make sure to check if your article contains all the information and that you’ve finished writing it. You can easily forget a couple of key information or you might have thought to come back later which happens to all the bloggers. Before you publish any blog posts, make sure that your articles aren’t incomplete.

CHECK THE PREVIEW OF THE BLOG POST
This is something I always do before publishing my blog posts and that is to check the preview of the post in advance. Your articles look completely different on the WordPress reader compared to your website that’s why it’s very important that you check if your blog posts are readable on both platforms.
In addition, when you add images or customise your text, you don’t really know how it will look on your website so always do a preview before publishing your posts, that way you can resize your images or change your font‘s style/colour which in turn will make your article look visually pleasing on the eyes.

PROOFREAD YOUR BLOG POST
I don’t think I’m apt to mention this point since I don’t proofread my articles to begin with but this is something very important. Your articles can obviously contain a number of grammatical or spelling mistakes which is completely normal, we are all humans and it’s not really that big of a deal.
However, if your blog post only consists of spelling or grammatical errors – it won’t be readable nor look professional. There are tools and websites you can use to check your spelling & grammar mistakes. If you have a self-hosted website or use the business/eCommerce paid plan, you can install plugins to check your blog posts.

CHECK IF YOU NEED ANY IMAGES
This is completely up to your preference and it will obviously vary depending on your niche and the article in question but check if you need to add any images in your blog post before publishing it. I truly think that you don’t need to add images in your blog posts if it’s not necessary unless you are writing about a specific product or a post that requires you to add images.
But if you feel a picture will look good or be helpful for your readers when reading a certain paragraph – then add one. You can always add extra images or templates after you’ve published your blog posts. Plus, you can always revamp your articles later on but most people would probably read your blog post as soon as you publish it so keep that in mind.

CHECK YOUR TEMPLATES
Once again, this is something that’s completely optional but I personally think is quite important. As you most probably already know, I’ve never been into social media or utilised my social media to the max as I was completely focused on my blog but social media is another essential part of blogging.
It can bring a lot of advantages if you start using your social media effectively and consistently. Creating blog post templates is one of the ways to promote your articles on social media. You don’t necessarily have to use templates and can use pictures instead but make sure to check what types of templates you would like to use or if you need any at all.

I know right
Are you Nigerian?
Yes I am. You?
Yes. Nice to meet you
Nice to meet you too dear
It’s definitely a struggle! I think the hardest part is not figuring out what you are doing but rather not giving up. It’s so easy to give up when you don’t see any difference but the more consistent you use your social media, the better results you will achieve. I definitely prefer my blog over social media and I really try not to focus on numbers as well as it can be quite discouraging. Thanks for reading babe ❤️
Thank you too. You’re awesome ♥️
You are the sweetest 😘❤️
You are absolutely right! We should always check those things before publishing although I am sure I always forget doing those… especially the spelling, the format, the alignment etc… thanks for the reminder!
My pleasure hun! ❤️
Totally true, I make sure I proofread even after all is set, I preview and cross check incase I probably need to put a picture or something. It really helps me see it the way anyone reading would. Great tip👍
Thank you love! 💗
Apt as always… Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! My pleasure 😊
Nice tips, will try using templates
Thank you lovely! ❤️
Abslutely true. I want to start a blog in English but I am still wondering which niche to target. Any suggestion please?
There are a lot of niches you can write about, I would recommended to write about a niche that you like and are passionate about otherwise you won’t be motivated to write anything and continue blogging. Plus, don’t think you have to stick to only one niche. You can incorporate multiple niches but make sure that your blog in general looks cohesive and organised.
Wow! Great post
Thank you! 😊
I love this as a little reminder. Thank you 💛
You’re welcome love! ❤️
