Testing New Makeup Products

There are so many new releases in the drugstore, I’ve yet to try the new launches but I thought I’d share with you some of the items I picked it up a couple of weeks ago while I was browsing through Boots & Superdrug. I’ve been using these products for nearly a month now so it’s more of a first impression than a review, now if you’re interested then keep on reading!

MAKEUP REVOLUTION | RE-LOADED PALETTE NEWTRALS 2

I’m a huge fan of the Naked Heat palette from Urban Decay so it’s a no surprise that I picked up the Makeup Revolution Re-loaded Palette in Newtrals 2. Both palettes have very similar shades – if not the exact same, the MUR palette has more shades compared to the Naked Heat and it’s only a fraction of the price!

So far, the eyeshadows are very pigmented and easy to blend, all the eyeshadows don’t have the same consistency and formula which is a common issue for most palettes. I’d recommend to wet your brush with a setting spray or to use your finger when applying the shimmery eyeshadows to get the best finish.

Je suis un grand fan de la palette Naked Heat d’Urban Decay. Il n’est donc pas surprenant que j’ai choisi la Palette de chez Makeup Revolution dans Newtrals 2. Les deux palettes ont des nuances très similaires – sinon la même, la palette MUR a plus de nuances par rapport à la Naked Heat et c’est seulement une fraction du prix!

Jusqu’à présent, les fards à paupières sont très pigmentés et faciles à mélanger, tous les fards à paupières n’ont pas la même consistance et la même formule qui est un problème commun pour la plupart des palettes. Je recommande de mouiller votre pinceau avec un spray ou d’utiliser votre doigt lors de l’application des fards à paupières chatoyant pour obtenir la meilleure finition.

L’OREAL | COLOR RICHE SHINE LIPSTICK

L’Oreal used to be my favourite drugstore brand (and still is!) and it’s been a long time I’ve tried their products so I bought their Color Riche lipstick in the shade HOT IRL (643). Firstly, the packaging is absolutely stunning with the glass & gold detailing and has a luxurious feel to it!

The formula is very creamy, sheer and moisturising which is a thumbs up from me. The shade is a bit too ‘brown’ for me so I pair it up with my NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams either in the shade London or Abu Dhabi and it turns into the perfect shade for me.

L’Oréal était ma marque de pharmacie favorite (et l’est toujours!) et ça fait longtemps que j’ai essayé leurs produits, j’ai acheté leur rouge à lèvres Color Riche à l’ombre HOT IRL (643). Tout d’abord, l’emballage est absolument magnifique avec les détails en verre et or et a une sensation de luxe!

La formule est très crémeuse et hydratante ce qui est un coup de pouce de ma part. L’ombre est un peu trop «brune» pour moi, alors je l’associe avec mes crèmes à lèvres de chez NYX à l’ombre de Londres ou d’Abu Dhabi et cela devient l’ombre parfaite pour moi.

WINKY LUX | LIPPIES

Next, we’ve the Lip Velour Matte Lipstick, Glimmer Balm and Disco Gloss from Winky Lux which they kindly sent these products for me to try them out! The matte lipstick in the shade Heart is my favourite product out of the three, it’s a cool toned red and the finish is satin rather than matte.

I was really intrigued by the Glimmer balm because of the fact it changes its shade depending on your skin’s pH levels to create the perfect shade of pink which is so cool! The Disco Gloss in the shade Hustle is a clear pink gloss which has shimmers which I’m not a fan of but if you love these types of gloss then it’s worth checking it out.

Ensuite, nous avons le Lip Velour Matte Lipstick, le Glimmer Balm et le Disco Gloss de Winky Lux qu’ils ont gentiment envoyé ces produits pour que je puisse les essayer! Le rouge à lèvres mat à l’ombre Heart est mon produit préféré sur les trois, c’est un rouge et la finition est satinée plutôt que mate.

J’ai été vraiment intriguée par le Glimmer balm parce qu’il change de couleur en fonction du pH de votre peau pour créer la teinte parfaite de rose qui est tellement cool! Le Disco Gloss à l’ombre Hustle est un brillant rose clair qui a des reflets dont je ne suis pas fan, mais si vous aimez ces types de gloss alors il vaut la peine de le vérifier.

BOURJOIS PARIS | DUO BLUSH SCULPT

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I don’t use blush and I’ve never found the perfect blush that suited my skin tone so I came across the Bourjois Duo Blush Sculpt in the shade Caraméli Melo and let me tell you, it’s the BEST!

I wish there was a matte version of it without any shimmers because the shades are so flattering on me. If you’ve medium to olive skin tone then this is the one you need, especially during the summertime – it gives such a natural look!

Si vous me suivez depuis un moment, vous savez que je n’utilise pas de fard à joues et je n’ai jamais trouvé le blush parfait qui convient à mon teint, alors je suis tombé sur le Bourjois Duo Blush Sculpt à l’ombre de Caraméli Melo et laissez-moi vous dire, c’est le MEILLEUR!

J’aurais aimé qu’il y ait une version matte car les nuances sont si flatteuses pour moi. Si vous avez un teint moyen à olive, alors c’est celui dont vous avez besoin, surtout pendant l’été – il donne un aspect naturel!

CYO | CRUSH ON METAL METALLIC EYESHADOW

I knew I had to try this eyeshadow ever since I laid my eyes on it, I love warm and gold shades – they look the best on my eyes – the CYO Crush on Metal Metallic Eyeshadow in the shade Cooeey seemed like the perfect bronze shade and the packaging was really nice as well (+ very travel friendly). It’s extremely pigmented which I didn’t expect at all, I only apply this eyeshadow with my finger and the finish is very metallic and not shimmery at all so I’d definitely recommend it!

Je savais que je devais essayer ce fard à paupières depuis que j’y ai posé les yeux, j’adore les teintes dorées et chaudes – elles me paraissent magnifiques – le fard à paupières métallique de chez CYO à l’ombre Cooeey semblait être la parfaite nuance de bronze et l’emballage était vraiment bien aussi. C’est extrêmement pigmenté auquel je ne m’attendais pas du tout, j’applique seulement ce fard à paupières avec mon doigt et la finition est très métallisée et pas chatoyante du tout donc je le recommande vivement!
