Summer Glow Essentials.

Spring is here and summer is fast approaching, it’s literally the perfect time to rock a glowy and dewy look. Don’t get me wrong, I think a glowy look can be worn all year round. You don’t need to create your makeup look based on a specific season. Personally, I don’t like a matte look and I much prefer having glowy looking skin.

In today’s post, I wanted to share with you some must-haves you need to have in your makeup kit in order to achieve that glowing & radiant looking skin which includes some new gems I discovered. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER

I think everyone loves having glowy and luminous skin during the summer. One of the ways you can achieve that is by using highlighters but more specifically liquid highlighters. Bali Body were kind enough to send me a couple of products to try and so far my favourite products are their highlighter stick which is available in 3 different shades: Moonlight, Rose Gold and Sunkissed.

I prefer liquid highlighters over powder highlighters for various different reasons. One, they give a very natural finish without looking over the top if you know what I mean. Two, you can mix them with other products. You can mix them with your foundation, BB cream, moisturiser, facial oil, etc.

One of the tips I would give when using liquid highlighters is to either mix it with your base products such as foundation, moisturiser, etc. or to apply directly on to your skin before using any other products – that way it will look more natural and give a glow from within.

What I love about these highlighters is the fact they are not too shimmery to the point there are chunks of glitter visible on your skin. Another thing I love about them is their wand applicator. It pretty much gives you the perfect amount to use and it makes sure that you don’t take a lot of product in one go. I would recommend to blend the highlighter as soon as you apply it, if you do decide to use it directly on your skin because it dries down very quickly.

BB CREAM

Another must-have product is obviously a BB cream! It can be very difficult to wear a full face of makeup during the summer especially when it’s boiling hot outside. However, you can still achieve that look using less products for example a great alternative of foundation is a BB or CC cream. The Bali Body BB Cream SPF15 is the perfect option if you are looking for a multitasking beauty cream that combines a sunscreen, foundation and anti-ageing moisturiser.

Although it’s not full coverage, it still provides a good amount of coverage while giving a healthy dewy glow. Plus, it evens out your skin tone nicely! There are 4 shades available and I picked the shade “Tan” which is perfect if you have olive skin tone. It contains hyaluronic acid which you already know, is so good for your skin as well as marine collagen and green tea extract. All those ingredients are amazing for your skin in terms of hydration.

TANNING & BODY OIL

As you all already probably know, I’m a huge fan of facial oils – they literally do wonders on your skin! Something that I’ve only came across recently is body oil and all thanks to Bali Body! Their Tanning & Body Oil SPF6 can be used along your lotion/body cream to moisturise as well as tan your skin. How cool is that?!

It claims to soothe, protect and hydrate your skin while you work on achieving a deep sun tan. My first impression was the fact it was lightweight and it didn’t flare up my eczema areas either which is great! In addition, it didn’t make my skin sensitive and it truly moisturised my skin. My skin is extremely dry and I didn’t have any dry patches at all and I didn’t even need to reapply or apply any other products.
