I’m pretty sure if you are reading my blog posts for a very long time, you would already know that I have extremely dry skin and I suffer from eczema as well. It has been a lifelong battle and my skin gets very dehydrated during the wintertime. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you the products I’ve used and I’m using to combat eczema and dry skin.

SEPTIVON
I’ve probably used Septivon as a body wash for the majority of my life. It has been my face wash, body wash and hand sanitiser ever since I was little. It is technically an antiseptic solution used to kill bacteria but this was prescribed to me by my doctor to use as an all-rounder.
I stopped using it after I moved to the UK because I didn’t find it in local drugstores or at the chemist. You should have seen my face when I saw the bottle when I was working in the lab. I later on found out it was available online but it was difficult to get it shipped in the UK. Nevertheless, if you live in France go to your doctor and mention this product. It’s worth checking it out!

EUCERIN
All the skincare products I used back in France weren’t available here in the UK which is understandable because the majority of them were prescribed to me by my dermatologist but it was still frustrating since my eczema was such a huge struggle to me. I tried various body lotions over the past few years and to be honest I am yet to find one.
But the Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Lotion is really good compared to the other lotions that are in the drugstore. It’s expensive and not on the affordable side, plus it’s really hard to get your hands on it. You either have to order it or buy it online but it helps with my eczema and doesn’t make it worse which is always a plus for me.

SUDOCREM
Sudocrem has been a brand that I’ve never heard about until recently. I saw people mentioning on social media and I’ve even asked my friends about it and it’s actually a great brand for dry skin! I’ve been applying their skincare cream to some eczema spots on my legs & tights and I must admit it’s not any other ointment or cream I’ve tried before.
It has definitely reduced the redness around the spots and those areas feel much softer was well. I’m thinking about using the Care & Protect cream when I have a rash, I’ll let you know on my Instagram stories if I see a difference!
BETAMETHASONE VALERATE
This is a topical steroid and it’s only available with prescription therefore I would highly advise to consult your GP or dermatologist before using it. I thought it was worth mentioning it since it’s one of the main products I use over my inflamed skin to reduce the itchiness and redness. I usually apply it continuously for 4 to 5 days and my rashes would disappear.
As always, these are the products that I use and I’m yet to find the best moisturiser, hand cream and even lotion. Before using any products, consult your GP or dermatologist. Go for a consultation and they will help you out.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING!

My son and I have eczema and dry skin apl year… I use Aveeno (for Eczema) with a dab of Elica for his feet and it makes it better and less itchy. As for me, I use grapeseed oil for my hands and it somehow lessens the itch… 😦
I’ve tried Aveeno, I find it pretty similar to Eucerin! I have never tried grape seed oil though, I’ll definitely have a look into it. Thank you 💗
I’ve had luck with Derma E Psorzema cream (not sure if it’s available in Europe/the UK). Some people also swear by Lush’s Dream Cream (I haven’t tried it yet). I enjoy the colder weather, but it wreaks havoc on dry skin.
I’ll definitely check them out! Thank you for the recommendations ❤️ Same! I love winter but my skin doesn’t hahah x
Nice post
Thank you!
Very nice. This looks so good.
Thank you!
this post was so helpful! and came at a perfect time, too. my eczema has just flared up again in the last couple of weeks, and my hands have been in a shocking condition. I will have to try some of these products out! thanks for sharing xx
So glad you found it helpful! My pleasure lovely ❤️ I hope you get to manage your eczema and keep it under control. Mine has just started 😭 xx
thank you so much!! ❤️ awww no I’m sorry to hear that! here’s to both of us with a better recovery haha. xxxxx
Hahah thank you! ❤️ xxx
I made a post recently on this exact same topic in which I mention I use Derma E’s vitamin cream (specific type) for my face. It’s worth checking out if you suffer from dryness prone to breaking out and tbh it is the only face cream that works for me. No other cream would moisturize the dry patches without causing breakouts or irritation. The eczema I have is all over the scalp area and the scalp scrub I was using made it flare even more
What shampoo/conditioner would you recommend? As always thank you for a valuable post 🙂
I’ll definitely check it out, thank you for the recommendation! Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that ❤️ I use the Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been using them ever since I was little and they are really good! My pleasure love ☺️
You are welcome 🙂 I’ll have to try Head & Shoulders 🤔
❤️❤️
Yayyy thanks for sharing this my eczema is so irritating and ugly but i never seem to be able to get rid of it without using steroids which isn’t good!
My pleasure hun! ❤️
I found Sudocrem is pretty good for eczema, but with it always on my hands it’s not the best product for me to use during the day! I love Aveeno cream though, it’s really gentle and does the job! I was recommended it by the pharmacist for my poorly hands a few years ago and I’ve never looked back! Xx
Ohh I might have to try Aveeno again! Thanks for the recommendation lovely xx
Great post! I also have very dry skin but I never had eczema! Have you tried some natural products (moisturizers, etc.) ? I heard a lot of good feedbacks of people with severe eczema that got better by using cleaner products 😊
Thank you sweet! I have tried but it didn’t work 😭
