[AD] Have you ever felt the need to completely change your life and your current situation? Whether it’s your relationship, work/workplace, course, etc. There comes a point in our lives where we begin to wonder if we are really living up to our potential or if life has something much more to offer to us.

I don’t want to say that it’s something that everyone experiences or goes through but I’ve definitely felt that way before and I know some people who did as well. I went through this reshaping phase of my life a few years ago which I’m not going to lie, it helped me get a clear view of my goals and plans.

Change is never easy and this comes from someone who needs some sort of change every once in a while. If you love to be in control of things then it can definitely be hard to change some things but in today’s post, I wanted to share with you some steps that you can take to reinvent yourself. As always, if you are interested – keep on reading!

1 | TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR CURRENT LIFE

Before you start to redefine anything, you need to take a look at your current life and ask yourself what makes you crave that change. Is it your personal life? Is it your professional life? If you already know the answer then it will be easier for you to change and redefine that specific part of your life but if you don’t then writing in a journal will definitely help you.

There are obviously a number of ways you can do this, but one of the most effective methods is writing or keeping a journal. Not only can it help you identify areas where you need some work & change but it can also help you identify the areas where you don’t need to change anything. One of the reasons why most people make the decision to redefine their life is because they feel lost.

They could be happy on a personal level but miss something on a professional level or vice versa. They could feel frustrated because they don’t feel like they are doing something up to their full potential. If you feel that way then take the time to write your thoughts. Ask yourself where you want to be and what you want to do.

A question that could help you find the answer straightaway is “are you able to showcase your full potential in the situation you are in right now?”. Evaluating your life is the first positive step towards creating a life you can be proud of.

2 | VISUALISE WHAT YOU WANT

If you are into the Law of Attraction then you will be familiar on how visualising things can help you with your goals & dreams. I’ve already mentioned it on my blog but I’m not really into the Law of Attraction, there are some things that I do agree with for instance when you put out negative energy – you will attract negative energy. But apart from that, I’m not really a big fan or follower of that law or concept.

However, visualising is something that can do a lot more than you can imagine. Visualising is used to program your mind in order to change and improve your current life. When you can see exactly where you want to be in life, you are much more likely to achieve that goal.

Redesigning your life is linked to understanding your goal. Once you know where the finish line is, you can take the necessary steps to get there. It also means that if you have no idea where you want to be in life, you won’t be able to reinvent yourself. You need to have a clear idea of what the best version of yourself looks like in order to move forward.

What exactly is your end goal? Do you have any ideas where you want to be? If you need help visualising, consider creating a vision board. It is a board that groups together images representing what you want to be
/achieve/have in the months to come. You can also do it to envision your dream life whether it’s your dream home, a business you want to start, etc.

For example, if you are looking to start a business, as it’s a vision board you can envision the interior of your office space with the furniture such as a modular reception desk, the prints you want in your workplace, etc. So many people were able to create their dream home or business the way they envisioned which is absolutely crazy.

3 | CREATE A PLAN

Now that you’ve identified where you want to be in your life, it’s time to start building your roadmap to success. This roadmap will be the path you take to connect where you are in your life to where you want to be. And in order to get there, you will have to create SMART goals. They will help you build the path to your end goal and facilitate the connection from your current self to your future self.

One of the fastest ways to waste your time and everyone else’s time is to build a plan that gets you nowhere. In order to avoid that, look at how long it will take you to get to your destination, then break down your bigger goals into smaller, specific, time-bound goals. This will help you feel less overwhelmed and you will have a better chance of sticking to the plan.

4 | TAKE ACTION

Once you’ve taken a look at your current life, visualised what you want, created a plan and then a to-do list, it’s time to take action and follow on the goals you set out earlier. Taking action is the most important step if you really want to make changes in your life. Wanting is good, but making it happen is better. And that goes for everything in life.

Our actions say more than our words. If you really want to change your life and become the person you are meant to be, you have to make the necessary changes. Stop wasting your time doing things and tasks that will get you nowhere. As you redefine and rethink about your life, you have the opportunity to choose and look at how much progress you make every day. One step a day will bring you closer to your dream future.

5 | TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE

The more I move forward in life, the more I understand that it’s often the little things we do every day that have the biggest impact in our lives. Taking the control of your life is taking responsibility of your situation and deciding that from now on, things will be different. No matter how old you are or how many mistakes you’ve made so far, you can always make a change. Nothing is set in stone. Life is not just about finding yourself. It’s also about creating the person you want to be.

Remember to be patient as well. You won’t accomplish everything you set or planned within a week or a month. Change takes time. Being patient with yourself during the stages of your personal growth is essential in order to redefine your life. Remember that you’ve been doing things a certain way for a very long time and it’s impossible for you to make and see all the changes you want in a short period of time. It will take some time for your changes to become habits and actual reality.
