One of the most difficult things to do might be enjoying the current moment you are in right now. It might seem like the most easiest thing to do but it requires a lot of effort if you are constantly thinking about your past and/or future. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you 3 ways to focus and purely enjoy the present. Without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

BLOCK ANYTHING THAT DOESN’T REVOLVE AROUND THE PRESENT TIME
Something that really helped me enjoy the present was to block anything that wasn’t a part it. Whether it’s your past or future, both of those don’t have a place in your present. You can’t fully enjoy the current moment you are living in if you are still stuck in your past or worried about your future. By removing those thoughts, you will only be left with things that are currently happening to you in your life and you will have no choice but to fully embrace them.

SPEND MORE TIME DOING THINGS THAT GENUINELY MAKE YOU FEEL HAPPY
This is something I mention quite often on my blog but is the key to happiness & peace and that is to spend more time doing things that genuinely make you feel happy. You cannot enjoy the present just by blocking your worries and stress, you have to feel peace & happiness in order to enjoy the current moment you are living in. If your definition of happiness is to read a book, watch a movie, visit places, spend quality time with your loved ones or eat delicious food, then go for it! It doesn’t have to make sense to anybody else apart from you.

DO NOT GIVE PLACE FOR DISTRACTION
Last but not least, do not give place to anything that distracts your mind from your present. The above points are all a way to distract your mind to focus on the present but do not let any other distractions stray you away from the main purpose that is your present. There will be many things around you that will trigger your anxiety & worries and make you focus on other things other than your present but you have to consciously make an effort to remind yourself that the only thing you have in control of is your present and how you feel right at this moment.

Very good advice. They all resonated!!! Thanks
AFAIK, the word “ad-vert” basically means to *dis-tract*.
One of the main reasons why I focus so strongly on “rational media” is that our own language is our own choice (more or less) — by and large, we can think whatever we *WANT* to think (Wittgenstein also had some clever remarks about that 😉 ).
There is no reason to put any faith in Gobbledygook strings like “Google” or “Netflix” or similar *brand name* crap (which I refer to as “irrational media”).
“New Lune” works fine for me — and that is YET ANOTHER reason why I keep paying attention to you!

Excellent tips. I do try to make my work time distraction-free. It’s hard in today’s world!
Excellent advice! I think it can help to pause and focus on the senses: what you can hear, what you can smell, touch your surroundings. A good practical way to focus on the here and now.
Such a beautiful post.
I’m on it!
