Dealing With Uncertainty In Life.

If there is one thing that anyone doesn’t like to deal with is uncertainty, the fear of the unknown. Whether it’s about something that revolves around your education, career, relationship or simply the future in general – we don’t feel comfortable when things seem uncertain and the outcome might potentially differ to what we expected.

Even people who love and crave for changes don’t like changes that involve uncertainty or a change that comes to them abruptly without any prior clue in advance. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you some ways on how to deal with uncertainty when you are at a point in your life where something seems uncertain and don’t know where to go from there. As always, if you are interested – keep on reading!

This is something I’ve mentioned multiple times for different topics on my blog and that is you don’t have any control in life. It’s something that is anxiety inducing and harsh to hear but that’s the truth. Even the things that may seem permanent are only an illusion because you never truly know what’s going to happen in the future. It only takes one second for things to change and for your life fo turn upside-down and that’s a scary fact in itself.

However, knowing that you have no control whatsoever about the future or about the things/circumstances in your life also gives you the reassurance that the outcome doesn’t heavily rely on you. If the uncertainty comes from something that is based on your actions and words then it’s something under your control but if it’s something that won’t have an impact regardless of your actions and words then there is no point worrying or stressing about it because it won’t change the outcome in any shape or form.

As I mentioned previously, nothing in life is permanent but that also means that things are interchangeable. The stressful time you are going through right now has the potential to turn into a joyful time in the future. Uncertainty doesn’t necessarily equate to negativity, some uncertain situations can bring happiness and peace into your life as well.

For instance, if you are waiting for a response from a job interview and are uncertain about the result, instead of overthinking and over worrying about the situation – why not hope for the best? Even if the result is negative, it’s not something permanent if you keep on trying. The result will only be negative if you give up on your skills & capabilities, as long as you are trying your best – you will only be moving forward.

If there is one thing that won’t change and will always be constant is the present. The moment you are living through right now is something that will not be able to be changed and that is the reason why you should try to enjoy it as much as possible. I know it can be easier said than done depending on your circumstance but if there is an opportunity for you to thoroughly enjoy your present and forget about your past & future then go for it.

  1. I love this
Great post on dealing with uncertainty! I completely agree with your points about how we can never truly control anything in life and that the present is the only constant. It’s important to focus on enjoying the present moment and not let uncertainty or anxiety overpower us. My question for you is, do you have any additional tips on how to stay in the present and not let worries about the future take over?

    1. Thank you so much, Cassie! I would say to do things that makes you happy whether it’s a hobby, passion or even simple mundane everyday things that help you distract your mind from your stress/worries and bring joy into your life. The more we distract our mind, the easier it will be to focus on the present. I personally listen to music, watch new movies that I haven’t already watched before, read books and play games. Those things bring me joy but also help me focus on the ‘now’. Hope that helped 😊

  2. Oh, I love this post! True and on point!
I also think we should all pay more attention to the present because many of us take the present moment for granted.

    1. Thank you so much! ❤️ We all should but it’s also something very difficult depending on the circumstance you are in.
