I’m so glad that I started my blog and now that I’ve been blogging regularly for 2 years, I can say that it’s the best decision I’ve ever made! I’ve had some ups and downs in my blogging journey, and those things made me learn and realise so many life lessons so I thought I’d share them with you.

EVERYONE WILL MOVE AT THEIR OWN PACE
Blogging isn’t a competition, there aren’t any winners or losers in this game and it’s not even a game to begin with. I’ve seen bloggers gaining thousands of followers within a couple of months which can be quite disheartening if you’ve been blogging for years, but you have to understand every blogger will move at their own pace and time. You will eventually reach your goal whether it’s in a few weeks, months or years. It will not make your achievement any less meaningful, you don’t have a time limit nor a deadline so enjoy your blogging journey as it is.

DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS
You don’t need to compare your blog with someone else’s blog because your content is unique and original as it is! The only person you should compete with is yourself. Comparing your blog or yourself with another blogger won’t change anything, it will only make you feel bad about yourself for no valid reasons.
If you want to gain as much as traffic as another blogger then work on your content & social media and implement strategies. If you want to take beautiful pictures for your blog, practice whenever you have time on your blog photography and you’ll see a difference. There is no point in comparing with another person when you can achieve the same thing or even better!

MATURITY
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve had some not great times while blogging which didn’t have anything to do with my blog traffic nor followers because obviously these are things that you can work and build therefore I don’t really worry about those things. Long story short, I had some situations where I had to deal with people who didn’t really like me.
If you are going through something, you don’t have to make it public, create a drama and involve other people. Obviously I’d always stand up for myself and I have boundaries when it comes to certain things, but that doesn’t mean I will act like I’m in middle school when I’m in my early twenties.

IT’S OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT
I had always felt like an outcast or different compared to others, I always had/have a different view of life and other things in general. Since I started blogging, I realised that it’s okay to be different, we should love and embrace it! More importantly we should take it as a compliment, there are so many bloggers who are very vocal about it and in a way, it made me accept who I am and that I shouldn’t change myself to fit in a group of people. So many bloggers are very open about their insecurities as well, they share all the aspects from it, the good and bad without filtering anything. Those insecurities don’t define who we are as a person and don’t validate ourselves.

WORK HARD, IT’S WORTH IT!
Last but not least, to work hard and you’ll see a difference. This applies to so many things in life and that includes blogging as well. You can’t expect anything without doing anything, it doesn’t make any sense right? Your hard work won’t be fruitless, it will all make sense in the bigger picture. It’s always better to have a slow and steady growth than have a fast growth and be stuck in the same place.

This was a great read. It’s very hard to be understood by people who aren’t on you’re same journey as you. Trying to get them to support you is very hard because they don’t get you. I feel like you understand. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you Ronny! x
Love the fact you included French in your blog post! I should probably do the same. My family and friends from Quebec may appreciate it… maybe.
Thank you Melanie! They will definitely appreciate it! It’s very time consuming but definitely worth it x

As always, this post was needed! I started a year ago and everything seemed to be moving at a snails pace. It wasn’t until I began to find my voice and be as original as possible, that I began gaining new followers here and there. Its all such a learning experience. Blogging is my passion so I wont give up, but its posts like this that gives you motivation to keep going. You’re awesome and thank you!

Hey, I just realized I can enjoy your site on two levels. I’m learning to read French and can check your English to see if I’m comprehending correctly. 🙂
Haha that’s awesome! You can kill two birds with one stone 😉
These are such important reminders – especially not comparing yourself to others. Happy Blogging! ❤
Thank you love ❤️
I love this and think it’s so true! As I was reading it, I thought that these things were not just applicable to blogging but to life in general. You just gotta do you, whether in life or blogging, and our unique equalities is what makes us and our blogs special!

Welcome 🌹🌹
😘💗
It’s been a 3 years’ journey for me so far. The thing is probably the hardest for me. I guess I like to benchmark things? It isn’t healthy. Somewhere along the line I questioned myself whether I’m simply bad at it or I didn’t put enough effort into my blog etc. I am way more chilled these days. Anyways, I am glad that you’ve opened up this conversation. Thanks.
Aw don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s so hard to grow your blogs nowadays. We’ll get in the place we want eventually! Thanks for reading x
As always, very useful tips. So inspiring.
Good luck with your blogging journey! 💕
Thank you Minnu 😘
All very true statements. I see my blog and others as online diaries. The differences is what makes it interesting. I learn from people from all over the world.
Thank you! So true 💕
I’m so glad to be following you! Your post is very inspiring and helpful!
Aw thank you doll! 💗
This post very much resonated with me. It has been a test of courage for me to “put myself out there!” And yes that does leave me feeling vulnerable but I need this for my personal growth and healing so I’m going with it and embracing it even though it’s way out of my comfort zone!! So thank you so much for sharing and reinforcing my confidence to continue despite some setbacks! Donna 🧚🏻♀️❤️🙏 donnadoesdresses.com
I totally agree with everything you have said Donna, being new to the world of blogging and putting myself out there is scary but it has helped me so much in my personal growth and healing too.

Great post and i like your eye lol
Thank you lol!
Excellent life lessons! It’s especially important not to compare ourselves with others. Galatians 6:4,5 reminds me “But let each one examine his own actions, and then he will have cause for rejoicing in regard to himself alone, and not in comparison with the other person. For each one will carry his own load.” Acknowledging our own uniqueness and value is important.
Thank you!

Aww thank you so much babe! Means a lot to me! I’ve had my blog for 4 years but I’ve only been blogging consistently for 2 years now. I wish I had been active when I first started but I guess it’s never too late to start or continue anything ❤️
Thank you for sharing your story.
My pleasure! x
This is such a great post! I was agreeing with every point you mentioned 🙂 It’s so true that everyone moves at their own pace and we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others. We each have our own unique journey 🙂 and I especially love the part about just being yourself even if it is different from others. I always enjoy reading blogs from people who are not afraid to be themselves even if it means not following the crowd. Thanks for sharing, such an inspirational post ❤ xx

I find this very encouraging, thank you!!
Thank you! x
I feel like this post just talks to me. I’m always comparing my blog to other blogs and I pressure myself to write a post without actually working on a post! But I’m definitely driving for a change now
I’m so glad to hear that! 💗
Thank you this was so helpful. I started to dis heartened by the fact I only have a few followers and thought of can I change my blog, my contents, how to look like others. However what you wrote makes sense that it is unique and my own. Maybe I was being a little naive that I’d have lots of followers liking my site over night. So I will carry and do what I enjoy doing 😊👍🏻
My pleasure! ❤️
How are yoi
