Those aren’t any different to any of my day-to-day tasks or routine but they definitely help me feel like I can go through the colder months. DRINK YOUR FAVOURITE HOT DRINK
I think everyone should have a morning ritual drink depending on the season. For instance, during the summertime I drink hot water with lemon and on the other hand, during the wintertime I go for a cup of hot chocolate. However, if you are a coffee lover – there so many options to choose from! My personal favourite is a vanilla mocha.
If you are lactose intolerant , you can use oat milk instead of regular milk which tastes the same. If you are the type of person who loves to indulge on coffee, you definitely need on the go coffee maker for the tastiest & richest coffee. There is nothing like drinking your favourite hot drink after you wake up, it’s literally the best start of the day!
LIGHT CANDLES
Since it’s so gloomy and dark outside during the colder months, I take full advantage of that by lighting some candles. Whether it’s in my bedroom or living room, it instantly adds such a warm ambience into the room.
The great thing about this is that you can even use cheap tealight candles, it literally has the same effect! You don’t have to light up an expensive candle or look for a high-end/luxury brand. Simply light up any candles you have at home and this will do the trick!

READ A BOOK
There is nothing like reading a book curled up under a fuzzy blanket on your couch. I don’t know if it’s only me but I love reading novels all year round but there is something special when it’s freezing cold outside haha!
If you don’t like reading books, you can switch for films or TV shows instead. It’s just incorporating things that you enjoy doing. For some, it might be about reading a comic whereas to others, it might be watching their favourite anime.

FOCUS ON SELF-CARE
As you all already know, I have dry & sensitive skin and during the wintertime it’s even worse. I like to take care of my skin more vigorously (since I don’t have any other choice) during this time of year. In addition, I try to up my makeup a bit more. I would either go for a darker nude shade on my lips or wear a winged liner. Doing little things like this always make me feel better.

Yes! 🙌🏼 Thank you my love 😘
It’s a nice winter rituals. They’re all good ones. I like the first one, what i do is drink water water water all year and chai tea( tradition ). How you doing. How the weather so far. Hope your doing well.
Thank you! Being hydrated is so important all year round. I’m doing well, thanks. Hope you’re having a great day 🙂
I’m great can’t complain. Im happy to wake up to see another productive day.
I’m glad to hear that.
I like them all. Great post. Thank you.
Thank you lovely! 💗
For me it’s green tea – leaves and not sachets! However, the first thing I have in the morning is a glass of warm water, a ritual passed down from my mom that she got from her dad. While I appreciate good coffee I prefer to indulge at 11 am or just after lunch with a square of dark chocolate. Cocoa is usually my choice for my 4 pm break. And I always drink water no matter what time of the year. Great post, thanks.
I’ve actually never tried green tea! It’s something I really want to try now. I always have a cup of hot chocolate in the evening. Thank you gorgeous ❤️
I am obsessed with scented candles during this time of the year! And I think it is a great time for reading as well 🙂

Oh yes! They are perfect! Thanks for reading 🙂
Afternoon coffee and reading time are guilty pleasures in our house during the winter. Going for walks, even in cold weather tend to invigorate us, as well. Although the invigoration was a bit too much during our recent -39C cold snap. Cheers. Allan
I would love to go for a walk but I don’t think it’s something I can manage in this cold weather haha! Thanks for reading!
I find when I light a candle the scent usually really helps me out and I love a good hot chocolate with some whipped cream…mmm…so good!!
Ohh yes! So yummy 👌🏼
Good tips. I like to make soup, too!
Thank you! 💗 I like to have soup during the wintertime as well (actually all year round haha!) x
My favorite part of the cold: hot coffee and a good book in a warm little house.
I know it’s not the autumn now, but I wrote something similar to celebrate that season: https://theportlypolitico.wordpress.com/2019/11/18/the-joy-of-autumn/
Stay warm!
Thank you! 🙂
I love this and am determined to become a morning person!
Thank you! 💗
Herbal teas, candles & blankets are the epitome of cosiness for me!
I struggle with dry skin in the winter too, but I find that using a diffuser helps. It also adds to the cosy/relaxed environment.
I completely agree with you! I have to buy a diffuser! Everyone around me tells me to buy one but I’m yet to buy haha 😅
It has been so cold this week! It’s not quite as cold today though thankfully and it looks like it’s going to rain (for me) next week. I think having a hot drink in the winter is a MUST-HAVE ritual. You’d think everyone would do this but I once met a person in my old work who never drank hot drinks, only cold. Really strange lol
It’s going to rain here as well next week! Oh that’s definitely strange lol! But I guess some prefer cold drinks over hot ones but I can’t see myself choosing either one of them over the other. I prefer hot drinks all year round but I also like cold drinks during the summertime and once in a while.
So many cosy vibes from this post 🥰
Thanks doll! 😘💗
Love this – cosiness and self-care are the key!
Thank you! 💗
Awesome your post!
Scented candles is one of my favourite ways to feel all cosy in the winter! Especially when you can get some lovely wintery scents! Xx
Oh yes! xx
