25 Things I’m Proud Of

I have seen a lot of bloggers write about things they are proud of and I’m not going to lie I didn’t see myself doing this post because I thought it would be cringey. Plus, I didn’t want other people to feel negatively about themselves. These types of posts might give the opportunity to create insecurities so for the longest time, I pushed the idea of creating this post on the side.

However, recently I thought that listing the things I’m proud of would encourage others to do the same. Sometimes we are our own worst critics and it’s very important to remind ourselves what we have achieved. No matter how small or big those achievements are, you should appreciate them and take a moment to be proud about yourself. So before I start listing 25 things I am proud of, do list the things you are proud of in the comments so everyone can be proud of your achievements and be inspired!

1 | I MOVED ABROAD

I still can’t believe the fact that I moved abroad to start my life all over again. I wasn’t even scared about leaving my whole life behind, I was definitely nervous and anxious but I was so excited to embark on this new journey.

2 | I AM NOT THE PERSON WHO I USED TO BE

When I look back at the person I was a decade ago or even a year ago, I’ve completely changed. I’m still the same person and yet I don’t relate to that person either, and that’s a good thing. I used to be very vulnerable and insecure, I’m still working towards those issues but I’m definitely not the person I used to be.

3 | I GOT INTO UNI

Most people would be proud about graduating uni but to me, it’s the complete opposite. Till this day, I can’t believe I went to uni because it was never a choice I had in mind. I always wanted to get a job as soon as I was done with school/college and I thought I couldn’t survive in that environment and wasn’t clever enough because English wasn’t my mother tongue.

But I ended up going for it, got accepted into my dream uni, won numerous awards throughout the years I studied, got appreciated for my work and left with the highest grades.

4 | I STARTED MY BLOG

My blog is literally my baby haha! What started as a hobby is now a passion and I’m so thankful for the community I’ve built over the years. Everything about my blog is just so special to me.

5 | I MOVED OUT

Moving out was more than getting my own place. It pretty much gave me another chance at life. I was able to leave my toxic and abusive environment and start my life fresh which I don’t take for granted. I literally thought my life was going to end in that misery but I was able to get out.

6 | I OPENED MY STUDIO

For the longest time, I wanted to open my creative studio and I was finally able to do it last year. I’m planning on releasing so many products this year and I’m just so excited for it!

7 | I FOUND MY CREATIVE SIDE

If there is something I found the past year, it’s my creative side which was pretty much the missing piece. Showing my creativity through my blog and illustrations is something that truly makes me happy and content.

8 | I LEARNED LANGUAGES

Most of you might not know this but I am a polyglot and it’s not something I float around or talk about it with people. To be honest, I find it even weird to mention it but it’s obviously something I’m proud about. I’ve always loved learning languages and it was something that I found easy.

9 | I FOUND MY DREAMS & GOALS

For so many years, I didn’t know what I wanted to do or achieve in life. I knew I wanted to do something that fulfilled me and made me happy. I never considered buying a house or having a car as dreams, you can always obtain materialistic things if you save enough money and have the opportunity to do so. But I’m finally at a place where I’ve found my dreams and goals in life and I can’t wait to accomplish them!

10 | I GOT OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE

I’ve always been such a scaredy-cat and I’ve always avoided doing things that made me feel uncomfortable but as I grow older, I realise that I’m getting more and more out of my comfort zone!

11 | I STARTED TO EMBRACE MY FLAWS

I’ve always felt insecure or embarrassed about my flaws but I’m at a point now I’m fully okay about them. They are a part of me and if I don’t accept myself then who will?

12 | I WORKED WITH AMAZING BRANDS

Through my blog, I was able to work with so many great brands. I never envisioned myself to be in that position and I’m extremely grateful for those opportunities.

13 | I MONETISED MY BLOG

It was always a dream of mine to monetise my blog and I’m so so grateful I get to do it now!

14 | I READ A LOT OF BOOKS

I love reading! It’s my favourite thing to do when I want to escape. I remember a year when I read 100 books which is insane! I think in my entire lifespan, I’ve probably read over at least 600 books.

15 | I STARTED WORKING OUT

The past year, I’ve been focusing more on myself and started working out. There are times when I’m not able to stick to my schedule but I’ve been doing it consistently for over 7 months now so I’m very proud about myself.

16 | I HAVE THE LOVELIEST FRIENDS

I don’t have a big group of friends, I only have a number of friends and we are all scattered all around the world and never get to see each other that often. Actually, it’s been months and even years since I met some of them but they are the loveliest people I’ve ever met. They are so kind, compassionate and loving. Even though we haven’t seen each other in years, our friendships remain the same.

17 | I WON AWARDS

It’s something I used to be very awkward about because I hate to be the centre of attention and I don’t like to talk about things that make me feel that way but I won so many awards throughout college & uni. For someone who wasn’t born in the UK and English is only my third language, I’m very proud of those accomplishments.

18 | I DID MY CERVICAL SCREENING

It might sound silly but ever since I found out that I will have to do my cervical screening at the age of 25, I dreaded that moment. When I had to do it earlier than that, I was obviously even more nervous but I did it!

19 | I LEARNED TO SAY NO

I always felt bad to say no to others because I never wanted others to feel bad but I’ve learned to put myself first. If I don’t think something is good for me, it’s a no. If I don’t think someone is worth my time, it’s a no. I’ll never make myself unhappy in order to please others ever again.

20 | I SURVIVED THE HARDEST TIMES OF MY LIFE

I literally survived the hardest times of my life and I’m still here. From bullying to emotional abuse, I survived everything.

21 | I DON’T HAVE REGRETS

If there is something I’m extremely proud about is the fact I don’t have any regrets in life. Obviously I wish certain things had happened differently but they weren’t in my control so I can’t change them or do anything about them. But I don’t have any regret about every single decision, action and choice I’ve made in my life.

22 | I DON’T COMPROMISE ON MY MORALS & VALUES

As I grow older, I realise there are so many situations where I could have been sidetracked but I always sticked to my guns and never wanted to compromise on my morals and values.

23 | I LEARNED NEW SKILLS

Throughout the years, I’ve accumulated and learnt so many new skills! I think one of the main reasons is due to the fact I moved abroad, I didn’t have any other choice than to prove my worth.

24 | I’M WORKING THROUGH MY ANXIETY

It’s an everyday battle but I’m working through my anxiety. A couple of years ago, my anxiety got the best of me and I couldn’t even see myself living a normal life but now I’m able to do things that I wouldn’t normally do because of my anxiety.

25 | I FINALLY KNOW MY WORTH

The last thing I’m proud about is I finally know my worth. It’s so easy to build up insecurities when everyone around seems to be doing so well in life but I’ve realised I am in my own path. There is no need for me to compare myself with another person or to feel I’m below someone. We all are different individuals who have different journeys and yet we are all even, no one is in a higher position than another and vice versa.

    1. Thank you so much lovely! ❤️ I’m turning 25 this year that’s why I included 25 things. I had a hard time searching for them though 😅

  1. I’m an aspiring polyglot. I know 1.5% of 6 languages. 😉 You have a lot to be proud of, a lot of the things on your list are things that I’m aiming for in the future. You can’t tell from your blog that English is your third language! You’re quite proficient.

  2. I’ve heard that making lists just like this can be so nourishing for a person. Ooo! I’m going to do a list too! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see more of these? 🙂

  3. Whoa! I feel like I’m on a similar path, except not as distinguished. Yet! Thank you for sharing, this encourages me to push thru the last stretch of my semester in uni 💪🏼

  4. I genuinely adore this post. Life has a way of knocking us down and dragging us around sometimes. There’s more than enough negativity we could find easily and quickly. To see you sharing 25 positive things you love about yourself warms my heart. After reading these, you should absolutely be proud of the woman you are now and are becoming!

I am so extremely happy for you and all of the success you’ve found on your journey. I am grateful you realize that perfectionism is poison but our flaws are beauty! Our uniqueness is what makes us so incredibly special.

Thank you for being you. I am praying nothing but the best blessings from your days here on forward. Congratulations on seeing so many dreams manifest before your very eyes! ♥ Keep going – the best is yet to come 🙂

  5. Great post. You’re truly an inspiration…with very high moral values. I really enjoy reading your posts. I can tell, you’re gonna grow quite big….professionally…just to make things clearer 😉

  6. Those are wonderful accomplishments! Bravo! Isn’t it amazing what we can accomplish when we choose to do something?!

  7. This is a really great post – congratulations on all the amazing achievements! I think it’s so important to celebrate this stuff from time to time.
Hoping to move abroad in the fairly near future too. Your writing is inspiring 🙂

  8. We’re both 25 but you already achieved so much than me! Hahaha. But I’m so happy for you and you inspire me to do more effort so I can get more wonderful and better things in life. Thanks! 🙂

    1. Oh no, don’t say that! I’m pretty sure you are far ahead than me in so many other aspects and have achieved things that I haven’t. Thank you so much babe 😭 You are too kind ❤️

  9. Congrats you’ve come this far. You should be more than be proud of yourself. I’m also turning 25 this year but I am yet to overcome all these hurdles you are overcoming. It’s really nice seeing this, and I hope in years to come I will be able to have a list like this. Cheers

    1. Trust me, it was so hard at first but once I realised that I should be my first priority – everything made sense. Thank you so much babe ❤️
