3 Things That Keep Me Motivated As A Blogger.

Being motivated as a blogger is extremely hard. It doesn’t matter whether you blog as a hobby or full-time/part-time job, it requires the same amount of effort & work as a 9-5 job and sometimes even more! Nobody is productive and motivated 24/7 and if they said they were, they are definitely lying to you!

YOUR LOVELY COMMENTS

I don’t think you have an idea of how much your constant love & support means to me. To be completely honest, people in my real life don’t even shower me with this much love. Your likes & comments literally make my day! Whenever I have a bad day, I look at your comments and I instantly feel much better. Your lovely comments & emails motivate me to work harder and improve myself. Not only you motivate me as a blogger but you also push me to keep going & face everything in life. I literally can’t thank you enough.

When I say you have no idea of how much you mean to me, I truly mean it. I’m not exaggerating when I say I consider you as my online friends. You literally know more about myself than my friends in real life! My biggest goal in life is to inspire and help you achieve your blogging goals & dreams and everyday I’m working on my blog keeping that in mind. When someone comments or messages me saying that I’ve helped them achieve a certain blogging goal or grow their blog, my heart just bursts with so much joy & happiness!

OTHER BLOGGERS’ ACHIEVEMENTS

I know seeing other bloggers’ achievements can have both positive and negative effects. One one side, it inspires and motivates you to work harder on your blog and you know for a fact that you can achieve the same goal as theirs. However, on the other side you can get discouraged because you don’t see any results for all the hard work you are doing.

I’ve definitely felt that way before and every once in a while, that thought lingers into my mind even now – and that is completely normal. We are all humans. However, what you should know is comparing yourself with another blogger’s achievements & success won’t bring you anything good. It will only make you feel unmotivated to work on your blog.

In my opinion, take that negative thought and turn it into a positive one! Every time you see a blogger achieve a goal, think that if they can do it, so can you! It might have taken them a week to achieve it but you will get there at some point as well so there is no point feeling discouraged. Remember that there isn’t any winner nor loser when it comes to blogging. Everyone works at their own pace.

PASSION

I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years now (so crazy!) and the first two years were pretty much non-existent in terms of productivity and even traffic/engagement. I would either post multiple times per week or nothing at all for months, there wasn’t any consistency nor planning. But what kept me truly motivated was the love I had for my blog. I’m not lying to you when I say I would think about my blog every single day. Sometimes I would go to the library and use the laptop to just check my website.

I’ve spent so many nights planning and dreaming about my blog and what I wanted to do with it. It’s only after those two years that I realised my blog was more than just a hobby but a passion! I have no idea how it feels to fall in love (that’s completely another post to write about) but I do know that I’m totally in love with blogging and I can literally work hours upon hours on my blog! I’m pretty sure most of you know that feeling when you are passionate about something. It’s a mixture of excitement & happiness, it’s really hard to describe it into words.

I would love to know what keeps you motivated as a blogger! I know it’s different for every blogger. Some get motivated by receiving opportunities whilst others get motivated by seeing other blogger’s support. I definitely have days when I don’t want to do anything related to my blog and just want to sit back & watch a movie but consistency is the key when it comes to blogging. Whenever you feel unmotivated or know that you can’t do anything, the best thing you can do is take a break. You will come back with more energy and you will work more productively!

  1. It’s pretty much the same things that keep me motivated. My first two years we’re non-existent too in terms of planning and basically everything. This is my third year and I only started taking it really seriously late last year but I’ve come a long way from where I started. I guess I had to fall in love with my blog over again because there was a time when I stopped writing for months.
It’s really great to have people that encourage you to be better and I have those people in my life. They are huge sources of motivation. I know that in two years’ time, I’m going to look back at my blog and be thankful.

  2. For me really understanding ‘why’ I blog motivates me – it’s pretty similar to passion but knowing what I write can inspire someone of make them feel better is pretty motivating.

Also what I get from it – I enjoy writing about things that interest me and it’s good to look at posts from five years ago be reminded of things I’ve forgotten and see how much improvement I’ve made with blogging/writing.

  3. Well for me it’s the support I get that keeps me going, I am still working towards not procrastinating and trying to keep track and ensure I post once a week to help inspire someone. Thinking of it that way helps me get the job done and motivate me towards writing.

  4. I think for me it’s also the success of other bloggers. It gives me hope that if they can, then maybe I can too. And also the purpose behind it, I started the blog as a way to maintain a consistency to my writing and I’d just hate to break a promise to myself.
    Thank you for sharing yours!

  5. This is a great post. I’ve been blogging for a long time, but with another blog and concept away from my passion, design. Now I just came to senses and made another blog as a new start of something passionate that will bust my creativity. Great read!!!

  6. For me, it’s also other blogger’s achievements that motivate me and looking at my old posts. Even though I don’t get the kinda engagement I want, whenever I read what I’ve written, I feel a little proud of myself.

My blog gives me the voice I wish I had as a kid and in real life, I know I’m going to get to a point someday where my anxiety wouldn’t be a problem concerning the blog but for now, I’ll keep taking it easy. You’re one of my favorite bloggers and your posts are always inspiring😊.

  7. Yes! One of the reasons why I get motivated to write something is because I look forward to positive and encouraging comments. Nice one. 😊

  8. You’re also really (I mean really) good at what you do, you blog is truly my favorite and seeing other bloggers and they’re work is very motivating. Although, I personally I have been feeling so stuck in general and can never bring myself to start it again even though I really want to that’s why I’m just here reading other blogs today 🙂

  9. This was such a needed read. I have been on a roller coaster with my blog. For a long time, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t see others blogging about my interests, so I wanted to give up… But I figured if I did that, *no one* would be blogging about those interests. Eventually, I found others like me!

Then I took a loooong break. Now I’ve finally come back and I’m so sluggish with posting. x.x I hope I can do more soon and get back that motivation. Comments really help me as well! I agree.

    1. There is an audience for every niche! I’m so glad you found other bloggers in the same niche as yours. You will definitely get back that motivation 👊🏼 Thanks for reading love ❤️

  10. Your blog posts are so important to me and so inspirational. As someone who just remade a brand new blog after blogging for 6 years. I needed a fresh new start and your blog is it for me when it comes to staying positive and having blog posts to think about writing. I look for creative ideas through your posts 🥰

    1. Thank you so much babe! Your comment literally made my day 😭 it’s comments like yours that motivate and help me stay positive so thank you so much for that ❤️

  11. Blogging for five years is quite the achievement, well done! And I agree, reading comments is fun, plus it makes us feel connected, right? For us, we blog about things that inspire us, and to put a smile on each other’s face. Oh and I love how you translate your post every paragraph or so.

  12. Thanks for this post. I just recently started back blogging after an 18 month hiatus and loved hearing that you are motivated by all the love you get from your blog. I’m just a small blogger but it does help when I hear someone liked my post or can totally relate to what I am saying. Plus kudos for doing it in French too. I am bilingual and have to translate for my work and I find it so incredibly hard sometimes. And my first language was French!

    1. My pleasure love! Thank you so much ☺️ I literally spend hours translating depending on the length of the blog post so I truly appreciate your kind words ❤️ Ahh that’s so cool! x

    1. God bless you! I love to see women being courageous, it takes a lot to share your perspective and growth. Love you!! Stay encouraged❤️

  13. Wow…. You’ve been doing this for 5 years! Love your efforts 🤩 It’s always amazing to read your blogs and they are easy to read as well! Love them, keep ’em coming😇💛✨

  14. Passion hit me. I’m coming up on my 3rd year blogging and during the height of my creativity I’m posting ALL THEE TIME. Then I hit lulls where I am just not inspired. I need to take advantage of times I’m uber creative and stack up content.

    Great post!

    1. I definitely go through phases when I’m not inspired to write anything, let alone a full sentence! I always watch a YouTube video before I start writing, I find that somewhat motivates me to write 😅

      Thank you my lovely! ❤️

  15. i love blogging, i love what i do… this is how i express my feelings and my thoughts…
the best things that i get are the people who understands you then becomes your friend…
plus those bloggers who radiates their positivity through their motivational blogs❤️

thank you 😘😘😘 God bless ❤️

  16. Your stats are really impressive considering that it was a slow start! I found you on Twitter and idk why I wasn’t following you on here. Your blog posts are relevant and super informative!

My blog was dead for 3 years. It wasn’t until 2019 when I started to take it more seriously. I still treat it like a hobby and I know I can definitely improve! Planning and finding motivation to write when I don’t want to are my main issues. I don’t use social media so I’m definitely missing out there as well. I don’t own a domain and someone took my domain name…. and I don’t have a backup name yet.
