5 Habits That Will Change Your Life

{AD} I truly believe that you should always put yourself first before anyone else. It doesn’t mean that you are selfish or that you don’t love your loved ones but when you take care of yourself, it shows. You literally become the best version of yourself and when you think about it, it benefits you and people around you as well. I know some people have this mindset of becoming the better version of themselves which is amazing and really healthy in my opinion.

Not only will it help you grow your confidence & self-esteem but it will also help you see the best in everything. I don’t think I have the right to speak about how other people should ‘live’ their life but if there is one thing that I would like to say is to that everyone should create a life that gives them happiness & peace. Personally, I always try to incorporate new & healthy habits in my life. I literally want to be a better person than I was yesterday.

I don’t know if it’s because of my anxiety but I need to have a routine in order to work productively or even to function properly. On the other hand, I know so many people who hate routines and a structured life. Personally, for me it’s the total opposite. My morning and night time routine help me stay organised and be more intentional with my time as well.

Obviously, not everyday is the same and you might end up having to change everything in your routine. However, I would highly recommend for you to create a morning and night time routine if you haven’t already. You don’t have to do something that you weren’t doing before. It’s all about doing things that help you relax and be healthy & happy.

It’s very similar to a self-care routine. Incorporate habits that make you happy. If you find meditation to help you with your anxiety, spare 10 mins every morning to meditate. If you find reading to help you escape the reality then read a book before you go to bed. Do things that work for you and at a time that you like! Don’t force yourself to do things that really don’t work for you.

My number one advice is to take care of your body! This is something that I’ve mentioned multiple times on my blog. Your physical health is as important as your mental health. There is no point doing things that help your mind if you aren’t taking care of your physical body. You only have one body! Your body is literally your vessel that’s why you should pay more attention to it.

Make sure to eat healthy and take vitamins or supplements that will boost your energy. Focus Supplements are one of the best supplements in the market! They have a variety of supplements, some are specifically for stress whilst others are for mood & sleep. They have supplements for energy, focus & memory, hormonal balance, joint pain, weight loss, etc. They are little pricey but so are the other vitamins & supplements.

You will usually find vitamins and supplements around the same price so they are definitely worth it. If you check on Amazon, you will find that some of their supplements are “Amazon’s Choice” and many people have positive reviews when it comes to their supplements. The ones I would recommend to check out are the Caffeine & L-Theanine, 5-HTP, Magnesium Glycinate and the Organic Turmeric.

Magnesium and Glycinate are really good for sleep, muscle recovery and for your energy level. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties which is great for your body. Since the Organic Turmeric supplements contains ginger and black pepper, it’s really good for your digestive system as well.

As you already know, caffeine helps you feel less tired & stay awake and L-Theanine eliminates most of these caffeine side-effects, both of these ingredients combined are literally a match made in heaven! They will help you stay focused and boost your energy. 5-HTP is a dietary supplement which is perfect if you are looking to lose weight and balance your mood.

I’ve linked all the supplements down below, you can find them all on Amazon.

Speaking to your loved ones about your worries will really help you but I do know that not everyone likes to share their problems with their families or friends. Journaling helps a lot in that situation! Personally, I don’t like to tell others my worries, stress or problems and tend to keep everything inside which is definitely not healthy that’s why I always recommend you to speak to others.

If you are like me, writing your thoughts and feelings in a diary will help you feel a lot calmer and better. Writing my thoughts allows me to understand myself a lot better and I’m able to control my emotions as well. I can look back and reflect on myself or the situation I was going through. Some people really like to manifest their goals, dreams & desires through journaling as well.

You don’t necessarily have to keep them in a diary, you can write them in a piece of paper and then throw it away. The important part here is not to bottle up your emotions and expressing them through any shape or form which in this case is through writing. If you feel much more comfortable talking about them then don’t write them!

This is something I’ve only learnt a few years ago and that is I cannot control every single thing in my life. With everything that’s happening in the world right now, I’m pretty sure many people would have realised that by now. The simple fact of accepting that you are not in control is not as easy as it may seem. Depending on your circumstance or personality, we are very attached to our cocoons.

If we start to sense any changes to our comfort, we don’t tend to cope well. Once again, this is something that totally depends on each individual. Some people love changes and hate repetitive routines or situations. They need to do something different constantly whereas for others, it’s the complete opposite. Something that will help you cope well with changes is knowing that you will grow after each change in your life.

By staying in our comfort zones, we limit ourselves and our growth. We are constantly changing so in order to evolve into a better or ‘improved’ version of ourselves, we need to accept those changes. You won’t be able to grow by avoiding changes. I’m not saying it won’t have a impact in your life, but not every change is negative. Some are good and will help you to move forward in life.

Your mind is a powerful tool. The way you think can literally make a huge difference in your life! We often determine what we can and can not do based on what our minds say to us. For example, when you think you don’t have the necessary skills, knowledge or experience to achieve something – it has a huge impact in your confidence and the way your perceive yourself.

If you change your mindset to believe in your abilities, you will be able to see your full potential. You can achieve anything in this world, there is literally no one stopping you! If you don’t know how to do something, practice and learn! It’s as simple as that. Do you feel insecure about something? Search for the root of that insecurity! If it’s something you can change, go for it. If not, embrace it! That’s what makes you special and unique!

Did you do something that you regret? Take responsibility for your actions and think about the things you can in order to not make the same mistake another time. Do you feel unhappy? Think about what makes you unhappy. If it’s a person, cut that person out of your life. If it’s a situation, think about a way to remove yourself from that situation. Don’t listen to your mind when you are overcome with emotions.

  1. When my anxiety was at its worst I tried 5-HTP and it helped so much. I prefer to use natural remedies like that to help me feel better!
Thank you for such great tips 💖

  2. I am really enjoying reading your blog posts. They’re not only informative but also enjoyable 🙂

  3. All good thoughts. You can not take care of anyone until you take care of yourself. Control is just an illusion. The only things we can control are those those that affect us. The best action anyone can take is to change their mindset. I recall the poster I saw on the ceiling of my dentist’s office 45 years ago….Change your thoughts and you will change your world. True words. Hope all is well with you. Allan

  4. Loved the second last point a lot. Accept the fact that you can’t control anything. There are so many things that are happening right now in the world and we don’t have a control on it. I guess someone might have said it right, Man propose, God disposes. Anyways great post. 😊

  5. Changing mindset especially a negative one to a positive one is the beginning to a better a life!

  6. This is another great article.
You see that routine, mindset, changing thought, and controlling everything, right? They are real gems!

    Thanks for sharing.
But apart from the body supplements, you suggested, are there other ones you could think of?

  7. This is a very thought-provoking, well-written blog post. I read it but feel like I need to read it again to grasp everything. I struggle with points #4 and #5 the most, and it’s something I need to work on!

  8. Thank you for writing this article to remind myself that I need to focus on myself. I am still learning that I cannot control everything and I find that incredibly difficult. I will try to keep these points in mind as I work on living a better and healthier life. I hope you have an amazing day!

  9. I totally agree with you, I have the philosophy ‘Get your life in order before you try to help anyone else’ and follow the system myself > family > community > country > world – my logic being if I can’t even sort my own life out, how can I help anyone else?
Your list is also really good – I think the ability to recognise what is beyond your control does wonders for your wellbeing and changes your mindset to problems 😊
    Thank you for sharing!

  10. It’s crazy how much having a routine helps. When Covid hit and all routine went out the window, I felt so lost! It’s important to learn to accept change & be able to adapt routines for sure 🙂

  11. I love all these points! I can particularly relate to writing your thoughts down. This is something that’s helped me massively over the last 18 months and I’d recommend it to anyone x
